The price of the little Ninja food chopper went up again after I made the video - this is the one I used: amzn.to/2CDCTWJ
Some of the other choppers I looked at are less expensive, but they have fewer blades than the Ninja, so I don't know if they'd work as well. Of course, it's possible that they work better - but I can't buy them all to find out. If you have a different brand, let us know if it works or not.
This recipe should work well for folks who live in areas with lots of critters who are attracted to the flour in the original recipe. Suzan also says that she has some old paper mache clay from last year, still damp in the bowl, and there's no mold.
If you have any ideas for future experiments or projects, let me know in the comments below.

Dear Jonni, I loved doing paper mache when I was a kid. I stumbled upon your site and was immediately captivated by your wonderful creations as well as your very generous sharing of ideas, recipes and methods. Suddenly my old passion for paper mache has been reawakened and I can’t wait to get started on my first project in over forty years! Thank you for the inspiration.

Sad person that I am, I am very critical of much, that finds its way onto KZfaq. I always say, 'if a job us worth doing, its worth doing well'. But we get people who speak in the most unattractive and appallingly unintelligible way, with badly placed mics, background noise, etc. They just love the sound of their own voices, and get to their point halfway through the video! Thankfully, there are indeed some very professional videos. Many are inspirational, and leave you wanting more. This is one of them. Great! Thank you ma'am!!

Those Ninjas are fantastic for making paper pulp! I bought mine about a year ago. I fill it with paper and hot water and let it soak for a while. Then chop everything up to a pulp. Ring the water out using an old t-shirt. Then put the dry pulp back in the ninja for a final chop. You end up with a parmigiana like texture.

My high school art teacher introduced us to papier-mâché and we used Sta-flo the blue laundry starch bottle. My project from 20 years ago is still going strong! Look at the ingredients says it used corn other may include rice- both doesn’t affect gluten sensitivity; however, wheat is sometimes used as well so idk about the gluten aspect.

I've been watching your videos and taking careful notes. I admire and envy your artistic ability. I'm not artistic, more of a carpenter and stage hand for an opera company. I needed paper mache to make six semi-frightening severed heads for the opera "Turandot". I decided on your flour-less clay and the first batch worked beautifully. I started with styrofoam heads from store displays, primed them with acrylic-latex primer for hardening and adherence. I used crumpled tin-foil and double sided tape to add bulk where needed, putty to cover and adjust shapes and textures. This worked beautifully, although the surface was a bit lumpy. That was fine since these heads are supposed to be partly decomposed! For my second batch, I discovered something serendipitously. After soaking and macerating the toilet-paper with my $12 mixer, I had it draining in a strainer in the kitchen sink. Meanwhile, I was washing the mixing bowl with dishwashing detergent which accidentally went into the strainer and created some suds. Suddenly the lumpy wet toilet paper became smooth!!! I rinsed it thoroughly to get rid of the soap and then wringed it out (wrang? wrung?). This time, my wet 28 g of TP was only 88 g. The previous batch was 130g when wrung out. It released more of the water! When I mixed the joint compound and PVA glue, the result is a wonderfully smooth and creamy clay. It goes on smoothly without the lumps that I was getting previously. It's a real pleasure to smooth out. I will be "washing" my paper fibers from now on. I love the creamy texture.
