Dear Nintendo, Just because the Mario and Luigi series is an alright RPG franchise in it's own rite, doesn't mean you have to strip Paper Mario of all of the RPG elements that made it great. -Sincerely pretty much everyone

Let me give you a better one: Who got recommended this video after watching Origami King?

You know what would've been cool? If Mario used the magical paint brush Bowser Jr used in super mario sunshine. Somehow that would've been incorporated in some way and open a new door to the sunshine series.

I'm disappointed because they did not bring back the battle system from paper Mario n64 and the thousand year door but the graphics look great

Super Mario RPG spawned Paper Mario. This is a slap to the face not only for Paper Mario, but Super Mario RPG. Look, for an action-adventure title, I'm sure it'll at least be okay. But the countless Toads and the introduction of a MUTE Bowser in Sticker Star are unforgivable. Period. I don't care if you have a new development team. Paper Mario requires unique characters and a vocal Bowser, at the very least. This is why I still enjoyed Super Paper Mario.

this is just depressing.... why on Earth did they think including original characters was somehow a negative thing in the previous games when those characters are so beloved?

This game looks like it'll be fun and have lots of personality and I'll probably get it (used) but that doesn't excuse its many flaws, its lack of relevance to the original games (THEY'RE DIFFERENT GENRES FOR PETES SAKE, WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT?), and its existence being a perfect example of how Nintendo ignores their fans. And before you start with the whole "I'm being entitled" or whatever comments, if we know Nintendo can make a higher quality game that everyone will enjoy but are instead, lazily releasing a game with flawed gameplay and a dumb gimmick then why do we have to sit back and be happy with what we have. If we don't complain, they'll never change and its not like Colour Splash is the best thing they could come up with. WE HAVE SEEN THEM MAKE BETTER PAPER MARIO GAMES AND ITS NOT FAIR THAT THEY ARE HOLDING OUT ON US BECAUSE THEY "DON'T WANT TWO MARIO RPGs." I want people to have fun with this game and enjoy it but I also want the series to return to its roots or at least improve the gameplay.

The first Paper Mario is known in Japan as Mario Story. It's obviously clear Nintendo deviated from that path, but I hope this installment will have enjoyable gameplay and a decent story other than " stoP BOwSR fRoM doING tHa tHing!!!" Actually, just give me a basic non-card jump and hammer attack and I'll be fine.

Last time I was this early the characters in the paper mario series had more personality

I love Nintendo, and I love Paper Mario. Some people are whining that they need to go back to the old system, and if that's their opinion, that's fine, but Nintendo is a company that got to where they are today because of innovation. Coming up with new features and breaking the mold is what brought us Paper Mario in the first place. Super Paper Mario had a different battle system but it turned out to be a great game. That's why I was okay with them trying the sticker system in sticker star. They tried something new, and it didn't work out which is fine. My problem is with the fact that in stead of continuing to innovate, they are going back to this system which has already been proven to fail. Mistakes are important, even for major corporations, but only if you know how to learn from them.

6 years...6 whole years and i still love this masterpiece (at least for me)
