he used a lacquer spray. it's basically clear spray paint and hermercraft has made a full video on how to use it kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qsqcl9GGyZ-lk4k.html . I love your builds btw! keep them coming.

Laquer spray, make sure you apply glue to your model (elmer’s) or else it will make your model soggy
