Paper towel background technique

I decided to use a paper towel to add some amazing texture to the background of my art journal page. I love how it turned out. It was so simple.

This really turned out so beautiful. Wonderful idea for the texture. And I’m glad you shared about the spray stain soaking into the gesso. Great tip to use the micro glaze too. I just love this. I think I might make a small disc bound journal to play with different mediums & give some of these ideas a try. Thank you for such wonderful inspiration Tiffany. Tiffany, I am a recent subscriber and am enthralled with your creativity and vision. I must say, however, for those of us with low vision it is very hard to see white paper on your white background. If there were some contrast between your table covering and project substrate, it would be so so so much easier to see. Nonetheless, I enjoy your videos very much. Thanks.

Thank you! I will try to find a darker surface. It is hard for me because I’m so tan and with the dark surface the lighting gets all messed up lol!! 😂

Do you think the distress sprays would work better with texture paste? Or would it be the same result? At any rate, this is gorgeous! You're so talented.

Possibly. Each distress color reacts different to gesso and paste. I need to start making a chart so I remember LOL! Thanks so much for watching. I appreciate it.
