Oh how has it benefited you and what are the disadvantages of the previous kindle models for left handed people?

@@aleahkhan244​​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠ I’m not left-handed and I know this is four months later, but I think an oasis would be helpful for lefties because you can put the page turn control buttons on the left side of the device (shown at 8:13 in the video), which would allow it to be held in their dominant hand. If you hold a touchscreen kindle like the paperwhite, the area that you tap to progress forward is on the right - so it’s harder to reach with the left hand. The voyage was nice for lefties too because it had “buttons” on both the left and right bezels, which would also allow it to be held more easily in the left hand.

Definitely check on prime days! Right now there’s a pretty great bundle deal on the oasis that’s a good one to keep an eye on too!

Which did you end up going with? I’m in the same predicament as you, I do have the 2021 model but 2022 release (16gb) Paperwhite only because the Oasis is so outdated 😢 it was released in 2019 and for the usual Kindle timeline it should have already been upgraded but I’m worried that they’re phasing it out like they did with other higher end Kindles in the past 😢 I really hope that’s not what they’re doing though, I am just guessing in that direction as they increased the PW screen to practically the same size as the Oasis; so I’m thinking they’re either upgrading it to be bigger OR they’re phasing it out. I really hope they don’t as I NEED a Kindle with page turn buttons.

@@Nikkilodean19 I really really love that the oasis had the buttons...but I ultimately decided to get the paperwhite! Physical books still have my heart so my kindle is going to be secondary so the oasis price just did not feel justifiable. Prime day deal for oasis was pretty good but i just chose the more affordable. I think the oasis will stay for a while but just no upgrades to it :/ i will say tho..i have bad wrist/arm issues and even with a popsocket lol the PW still causes me a bit of pain...soooooo maybe i should have bought the oasis? I' KNOW I'M NOT REALLY HELPING YOU WITH A CHOICE IM SORRY!

@@asyahussain7560 if you’ve got bad wrist try the Strapsicle that’s what I use and so much more comfortable than a pop socket

How are you finding the kindle scribe? Please let us know your experience?

@@bilaltahir9978 Where do I began, I've read some easy reading linear books, something that digested well and get comfortable with the note taking application. I jumped head first and started reading Anna Karenina, and am currently toward the end of Part 2. I've done some note taking, not as much as I thought I would, the book isn't a difficult read, as it is long. The reading experience on the Scribe is great, it's easy on the eyes and you can definitely immerse yourself in the story. As for portability, without the IP rating it stays at home, I read on my phone in those instances, it is hard on the eyes and somewhat discouraging, because once you experience a Kindle device the phone is just meh. Having said that I can't wait to get home and read, on my Scribe. sorry for being long.

What did you go with? I think the best overall price point and features is the standard Paperwhite.

Twinssss! How do you feel about the oasis vs the signature edition?

@@papernroses honestly the signature edition is kinda meh for me! I don’t use the wireless charging feature, so the only other plus really is the 32 gb. With the oasis I feel like the size is more justifiable because of how easy it is to hold!

May I ask, just out of curiosity if you use all of the Kindles? I really desperately want a Champagne Oasis but unfortunately they don’t do this colour in Australia 😒 and I’m still holding out for an upgrade as they’re long overdue for one. I really hope they’re not phasing it out 🤞🏽

I’ve got the 2021 Kindle PW model in 16gb but I really want an Oasis for the page turn buttons, I’m holding out for an update as they’re sooo overdue for one; the Oasis was released 2019. I think if we don’t see a release at the end of this year they must be phasing it out, which is sooo unfortunate as we need a Kindle with page turn buttons. If they do upgrade the Oasis at the end of the year you can always trade in your old one and purchase a new one.

Paperwhite not great either. I read a few hours at medium light power and it goes down 10-15%

@@papernroses haha oh dear.... it's worth a try but I will tell you this. You will find Kindle to be smoother and a lot more convenient. It's hard to break from a long standing relationship with a device/ecosystem. But, if you are thinking of taking part in a mission to contribute to the revenue stream of a dedicated bookstore like Barnes and Noble then it's worth it. Just my take.

@@papernroses Guess what, the inconsistency of Nook made me return it and stick with my Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition. Here are the reasons why I had to return the Nook (just in case you want to know the reasons) 1) the sync was not working both ways at all. meaning if I use the app on my phone and read, it's not seamlessly syncing to the eReader 2) If I add books to my wish list on the desktop, it's not syncing back to eReader. But, if I add it to the eReader it syncs online (i.e. one-way sync) 3) Cannot highlight an entire paragraph in one swipe action. It's a two-step process. Select a word first and then slowly drag it to the rest of the sentence. Very cumbersome. 4) Word lookup- the functionality is there but does not display synonyms, antonyms, and contexts in one box. it shows the phonetics and then to know more about the word, we need to open another screen by clicking a button. That interrupts the flow of the reading 5) The wifi keeps dropping and it constantly shows a "not connected to wifi" message. So annoying.

Does the flush screen of the paperwhite made you annoyed ? After the sunken screen with crispy words of the basic

Do you prefer the Tolino to the Kindles? If so, may I ask why?

@@Nikkilodean19 In Germany, the Kindle cannot be used with the online services of the libraries. That's why I prefer the Tolino. I wouldn't buy a new Kindle either. In addition, with the Tolino I am not tied to a single dealer. I can use it to buy eBooks from the small dealer around the corner and support them in this way.

Difference is that the storage is bigger, it has wireless charging, and comes without ads 😊

@@papernroses @cariwalker7549 I don’t know if this is accurate but apparently the signature lighting also auto adjusts according to your environment like a phone, whereas the Standard you’ve got to schedule it yourself.

Only applies to Kindle alone, won't go towards the bundle price.

On kindles you can only use what is essentially the kindle app. Other brand e-readers (BOOX for example) are more like e-ink tablets and you can download other apps that way!
