Surnali God Dosa Sweet Dosa Specialty of Kokan
How to make Surnali Sweet Dosa
Ingredients
1 cup Buttermilk
1 ½ Cup Rice soaked for 6 hours in Buttermilk
½ Cup Grated Coconut
1 Cup Flattened rice/ Poha
Oil
1 cup Milk
Turmeric
½ cup Jaggery
Salt
Preparation:
Step 1
1 ½ cup Rice wash 4-5 times.
Soaked the rice in buttermilk for minimum 6 hours
Grind together the soaked rice, soaked Poha, Grated Coconut in a mixer jar. Make a fine Paste.
Do not add water while the paste you can used the Buttermilk.
Transfer this to a big bowl and add Jaggery, littile bit Turmeric and Milk, Mix all ingredients’ and allow it to ferment overnight.
Step 2
Next morning add salt
Heat the Non stick Tawa medium flam grease it with oil
Once the tava is hot and on a medium flame, pour a laddle full of batter and allow it to spread by itself. Drizzle oil around the edges only if desired.
You will see the holes appearing on the top surface.
Just cover it with a lid and cook for 2 minutes or until the dosa develops a light golden color at the bottom or until it is done.
Repeat the process for remaining batter.
Surnali is ready serve with Ghee.
