Fantastic. Fly bubble's recent instructional videos with Greg have been outstanding.

I really love this camera angle for your instruction. I have had people try to explain when to counteract pitch with the brakes and rolling with lean, and it was never as intuitive as this because the camera was mounted to the helmet. But this is much easier to see. Thank you!

Awesome instructionals, really appreciate all the useful info on all your videos Greg! Any chance you would consider making a video on the right way to pull on the rear risers while on bar? Thanks!

Very educative videos, thanks for posting. When it comes to roll control, would make any difference if the rising riser side of the glider is controlled by a little brake input instead of leaning?
@adamedgar5765
@adamedgar5765 8 жыл бұрын
+Chris Matteodo sometimes if the pendulum gets out of control...usually caused by the low hour pilot trying to stop oscillations using brake inputs...one way of slowing it down and even stopping the pendulum is to simply hold on one brake for a cycle or two. That will almost always stop incorrect "late brake inputs" making the problem worse. Some instructors suggest holding on a little brake on both sides...i found as a student and low hour pilot its easier just to hold one brake on a little. As the glider settles down and begins to turn in the direction of the brake input the pilot can either gradually release the brake or add a little opposite brake and hold.

Great video! Thanks! I'm curious: How do you get your audio so clean? That's not a Gopro's mic right? Do you have a lavalier mic inside you're helmet? Thanks again for the instrucional video!

***** Thanks for the info! indeed it's probably the cheapest and easier way to get that audio so clean. You have the best audio I've ever heard in paragliding flight videos. Keep sharing your knowledge and have tons of save and fun flights! Cheers

as it's more of beginner instructions, beginner gears (non pod) would make sense for the demo :) do you use knees for the pitch rule of thumb in a seated harness?

Question, I don't think has been asked yet. Some thermals throw my wing back and also kill my airspeed. With this, if I check it when it first comes overhead, the wing struggles with internal pressure. Its thus better to wait for until after the first dive (regain airspeed) before checking it?
@greghamerton4422
@greghamerton4422 6 жыл бұрын
somewhere in between, Chris ... let the wing swing slightly ahead of vertical, which means you have to start your dampening brake input just before it crosses the vertical point. You want it to accelerate, yes, but you don't want to just leave it to dive, as you might be going through a narrow strong core, and the dive might coincide with the exit, which could turn ugly. So a little dampening is advised.
