We often launch in 15mph conditions. In those, we never take the glider out of the rosette until we are fully ready to control it- As and Cs in hands, ready to kill it. We then tease it up out of the rosette, never letting the leading edge get more than 3 feet up. After the wall is built and the line look good, up she goes , plenty of force on the Cs and run toward it. Dont let go of the Cs until its stable overhead, and sometimes until its lifted one into the air. Pluckage is often the situation.

I wish I had easy access to a site like that. Strong wind launch gets even trickier when you barely have space to get the lines straight :p

True. A lot of space and the wind here ... is not really strong; the bun dled glider is sitting calm on the grass :) But I like the vid though.

what a beautiful launch site, I'm googling it right now, bo peep, ??. nice video as always, I see you got some new editing tech, didn't learn a lot form the video, I guess the winds were not gusty enough, but I'm an avid supporter yourself and fly bubble. Please make a video about gusts, im desperate for your knowledge on gusts and how to deal with them

very hard to make a video about something you can't see :-) I think you're referring to launch timing, which I do mention briefly in the extended version. Flying when there are strong gusts is pretty risky, so it's not often I fly in them, and also not ideal to be making an instructional video that ALL levels of pilots get to see about flying in really sketchy stuff. But I hear you, it's a good topic, I'll see what I can do when the right conditions present themselves.

@@greghamerton4422 . how about a chat when you're on the hill, explaining where gusts come from, can the topography be an indicator of gust probability .how to anticipate them, the dangers of sudden gusts and how to deal with them in an emergency, lastly, what to do when you're caught out trying to land in very gusty conditions.Cheers, Greg . @@flybubbleparagliding lame. everyone is stressed and broke. The ads in the youtube version must be enough. If not...bad business model. The world is shutting down and you want more money to finish click-bait videos. Nope. Never. This move totally changed my mind about flybubble.

Here's a challenge for you Greg. Try & launch/kill a Gin Sprint 3 in 18 mph winds. I did challenge Andre Bandarra but he couldn't get hold of one to try.

That might simply be too strong. if it's 18mph at ground level, it will likely be 20mph+ at wing level and above. Most wings are only around 22mph trim speed at sea level. Gusts due to turbulence and acceleration due to venturi effects will push you over the limit. mid B wings have roughly 6mph acceleration on speedbar at best. But perhaps you could fly at some small beach dunes in that wind strength. Either way, you'll want to use a lot of rear riser control to pin it down and to kill it during ground handling. For landing, I'd kill it using the As.

@@greghamerton4422 The reason i asked you to try it is because the C's are linked to the B's & i find I'm not strong enough to pull them both to kill the wing. I have tried killing it with the A's in 15mph wind but I've never seen a wing re-inflate so quickly in my life, so that puts me off trying it in anything stronger. The Sprint 3 is the best wing Iv'e had, it's just killing it is the problem.

@@LeeThomas-1 ah, the pesky linked risers problem. Try reaching higher up the C lines, above the maillon (using gloves). If the wing was reinflating with the As technique, you weren't running back at the wing fast enough.

Doesn't this site have a horse figure carved in the grass on the slopes, or is that a different site? (Seen in this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jpaVopt_nraqpX0.html) If these are public sites, then I would love to visit. I was trying to locate that site on the map but still no luck. I was planning a visit coming from London either by train or car. Would appreciate some pointers.
