Paragliding in high wind is a very important skill to have as a paragliding pilot. Training take offs, launching and ground handling in strong wind is a fun way to get to know your wing better and getting comfortable with high wind situations. Ground handling in strong wind and mastering your paragliding skills can take a while but is totally worth. So here are some good tips on how to place your paraglider in the wind, which lines you need to grab if you wanna gain control over your wing and how to take off.
#Paragliding #Groundhandling #Paraglidingtips
The wind was around 25-30 km/h fast but I had moments of complete calm conditions for couple of minutes at a time. When I hiked on top of the mountain the wind was at least 30 km/h strong and it kept its strenght pretty much all the time. After managing a sketchy launch, I flew straight over the landing site and I executed the deepest and best spiral. It was like the cherry on top of the cake. Enjoy watching the video!

I hope you could take some of the tips I had to share. Fighting the strong wind ain't easy but with enough practice you will control your wing for sure. At 10:42 I spiraled down.👌 How do you guys find it? Thanks for subscribing, liking and clicking the notification bell. Click here for more flights: cutt.ly/yrrWMnI

good video, one point you could ad is that walking towards the wing while also using the d lines to keep the wing from launching

I love you very much for putting that last little bit with the oh oh oh okay okay okay I'm taking off for leaving that in the video. I see these people right next to the ocean with the steady breeze that has a huge fat area of one temperature that goes on for thousands of miles and they get such a clean nice wind across that soft sand. I'm about 1500 miles from the ocean it's a kind of gnarly wind by the time it gets to either one of us

Thank you for the comment and appreciation 😉. Yeah, I totally understand what you are talking about. All these pilots show their ''skills'' in a laminar wind situation as in for us, or for me, the wind is never that way. I live in the mountains and the winds can be freaking crazy here and forget laminar situations. Obviously, training or showing your skills in a nice steady ocean breeze it's much easier... especially keeping your wing under control. Many times in these videos, the pilots are using smaller wings that a normal paraglider so that makes a huge difference. Stay safe out there and have fun, man ✌

So DVybz, I watched the video because I was curious! My opinion? I think it's easier to jump out of a plane but the fear factor is the same for both stunts!!!😳 I'll keep praying for you!!🙏🏽😄

If the wing is flapping up from the trailing edge try less brake. It's counterintuitive but it works
@ParkourSchweiz

yep less brake and maybe step to the wind a little bit.

Was waiting for you to do a Cobra launch, quite a bit harder to pull off (IMO) but I think it looks super cool and it keeps the wing out of the power zone when coming up.

I am still training cobra launch... Unfortunately I do not have so many windy days to practice it, but once I will nail it, I will definitely make a tutorial on it. Primarily I wanted to show the conventional way to take off in strong wind but the launch was a bit sketchy tho 😅

Does it need governments / airport permission to paraglide any time any were, or have to affiliate to some club?.. otherwise you might unknowingly fly unintentionally over military base and should get utmost trouble

What do you do if the training edge is constantly being lifted by the gusts. I’ve been practicing in 15/20km/hr and constantly find my wing getting blown from underneath the trailing edge
@Dvybz
@Dvybz 2 жыл бұрын
I would try to pull more on the C risers or try to turn around with the back to the wind. I guess in your situation where the wind blows your trailing edge from underneath is because the wind is changing directions fast. So if the wind blows your trailing edge from the front (while you face your glider) that means that the wind comes now towards you, so you need to change the position. If the wind blows from the back and it inflates your wing but your trailing edge is still getting blown and lifted by the gusts, pull more C to keep it pinned to the ground OR try to pull a bit more A to lift your wing from the ground up in the air. This is what I would try 👍🏼. I hope it works out for you. Good luck and keep practicing.

If you are trained there would be much more possible.You could even fly with 12m² wings when the wind is about 45 km per hour.But only for very good pilots.Pleas don't try that if you feel unsafe .There would be a very high risk and massiv consequences.Keep safe mate
