Learned a lot from that one Kyle. Running without leaning back drove my head into a Florida red ant nest one day. Got gas poured down my neck for desert.

This is the first video I have seen that actually shows the correct lean Angle for take off. it's nice to revisit the basics and make the corrections necessary for easy quick take off I dont wanna run anymore than I have to and good posture just makes your take off look Effortless. Thank you Kyle great video!!

Great video Kyle! It was cool seeing your lean doing lean backs. You put it all in a way that reinforces what I've read and my instructors stressed...but seeing your demonstration and hearing your council really cleared up some stuff and reinforced it, driving it deep in the grey matter. Thanks man

WELL DONE, Kyle. This may well be the best Newbie launch technique video on KZfaq. Most everything else out there is just a rehash of the same old stuff. Yup good job, I really like the specifics and actual demonstrations, this is the style and content that people can really learn a lot from. Now if it could only be tracked to actually see how much improvement will be achieved by those who apply this. Highest regards and I hope to get down your way this year and check in with you but if not maybe at a Fly-in.

Hell yeah man! Good video, great content and new ideas for me to practice getting my lean on( proper posture) with the paramotor strapped to my back. Instructor has left the state twice now and since weather and location never allowed us the first radio flight all I've been doing is kiting for over a year. At least I can add something new to my practicing until the planets align and I can run up in the air but that probably won't happen untill spring sometime.... hopefully. Thanks again man! 🤘🌮🤘🌮🤘🌮

Hey Kyle. I like the lean back method but it cost me a prop blade. During a fly in we were on a mowed cow field. The grass and brush were freshly cut but some long twigs must have been on the ground. I set up my wing risers spread and ready for a front launch. And before clipping in I stood forward of my risers by at least 18” from prop to where the risers lay. As I leaned back a twig got sucked in and grabbed my left riser and I heard a small ping and my riser launched backwards. One blade tip was busted but no damage was found on the riser or lines. Fluke accident for sure but I am not going to lean back for a run up again unless I am extremely far from my wing and on grass or a clear field.

Both of your audio sources are lovely and crisp! Helmet is showing huge potential! Did you use the Sena mic again for this one? I'm guilt of that forward run, head down launch style. Its a paragliding habit! I'll run through this practice drill! 50% of a successful flight starts on the ground!

Three thoughts on why I don't lean back. 1) if the motor quits the cost of a new prop $450 2) during the takeoff run leaning back while applying pressure to hold yourself up you tend to fight again fwd acceleration. 3) I'm off in 60' or less in zero wind.
@pablopicasso8502

If the motor quits the prop won't get damaged, especially in a clutched motor. The only way to mess it up is by releasing the throttle while motor still running....

Hi Kyle,I was wondering if there is a way I can modify the present bicycle style throttle I have on my 2015 Blackhawk 90. I find it is a little to big to grip properly (I know TWSS) or my hand is too small!) this causes me to accidentally squeeze the throttle. It is too far between the lever and handle. I use my ring and pinky fingers for throttle, and pointer and middle finger on the brake toggle. Any suggestions you can provide (or video on how to grip differently) would be appreciated. I just rebuilt the carb and replaced the pull start rope and did some fine tuning, it runs perfectly!!! I'm getting about 6000 rpm on max throttle.Thanks also for all the great instruction videos and all your other escapades. Also becoming a big Funky Fella fan, I hadn't heard of them until on your videos.Wayne
