From 1987 to 1989 they did not use a proper home video logo. Rather, they just used their then-current movie logo. Even in the 1982-87 period, several VHS releases did not use the home video logo after the warning screen, going straight to whatever Paramount movie logo was used to open the movie in question. The very first version of the 1989 home video logo, with the Gulf+Western byline, is quite rare as G+W had by then changed its name to Paramount Communications.
