i wish they would bring it back. it was one of the best shows on TV. THEY ALWAYS TAKE OFF THE SHOWS THAT STAND FOR SOMETHING. love to see GI-JOE once again with that long hair. Joe Lando always looked in those skins that he wore....Lori thank you for the tour...i live clear across country so i will never get to visit this set of one of my favorite shows. wish a reunion would come about so we could see how every one has turned out....How about it Paramount Ranch????? would be a hit!!!!!

So sad to see that nothing is left standing in its original form. It's also sad to see the new homestead gone...

You have to remember that it's a working movie ranch with lots of films and TV shows being made there over the years. Dr. Quinn wasn't the first and it's not the last. At least it's still there. Most TV show sets are torn down as soon as the show ends.

This is beautiful! I'll plan a trip there, but I'm sure I'll cry...I loved Dr. Quinn so much. I was really young when I saw the show and I wished I could move to her town!

I can't believe my reaction to your excellent video... tears. I loved that show so. My 13 year old daughter's name is Michaela. I visited the set in 95 during filming and actually got a picture posting with Jane Seymour (bank robbery episode). One of my best moments. This vidoe prompted me to plan our summer vacation in Southern California this year (we live in Florida). We have the entire 6 seasons of Dr Quinn on DVD and what a thrill to be able to walk the lot with my 2 teenagers. Thank you. Nice job.

Awe... glad you enjoyed it. How neat that you got to visit the set during filming! As you can see from the pictures the ranch has changed quite a bit, but I know you will enjoy being there again if you go this summer. Yes, it was really neat to visit here! There aren't very many shows that are filmed in a public location like this and I appreciate it all the more now. I hope you have the chance to go sometime!

I actully cried watching this, I love DQMW so much! I would love to visit that place some day, but since that's unlikely, I'll enjoy videos and pictures of other peoples visits there. So thank you for this.

+Linda Lee Stepanovich could not agree with you more. it comes on at 7PM here in my part of the country, and later on once more that night. 2 times is just not enough...... there's a lot of time's when you really get interested in a show, and then they pull the plug, and you are left hanging. sometimes i ask myself if i want to watch a new show that is continued for (MAYBE A NEXT SEASON)... well i am watching now (WHEN CALLS THE HEART), waiting for season 3 to start. hope it is not a big let down.

The Homestead Farmer Because it was what life had to have been about back then. your sad because the rerun's are all we can watch of a good show. i watch all the reruns, they start at 7 pm, and all the way up to(11 pm). that, and JAG, and Walker, Texas Ranger.each on twice all the way up until 2 pm. all good shows, and of course The Golden Girls......good shows in deed....

+country flower We dont get reruns of DQMW here in Finland at all! That must be why I'm so sad. :'( I've been watching the dvds now that I got a few seasons. but I'm a few season short still.

I love this video. If I ever come to California, the paramount ranch is the place to go! I´m happy for you that you fullfilled that dream already. For a big fan, it mustve been a wonderful experience.

This video was fascinating and yet sad at the same time. I used to enjoy watching this show when it was a current program on the main networks, and not just cable re-runs, and it's a little bit sobering that a place that once had so much activity going on is now so quiet and lifeless. Also, I wonder why some of the buildings like the schoolhouse, the church and the homestead got torn down?

I don't know all the reasons, but in the commentary on the DVDs Joe Lando said the homestead was getting vandalized and presented insurance issues to the park service. Also, with the exception of the train station, they pretty much put it back the way it was before they started the show.

Don't forget, (may have already meen mentioned?) This set was built for The Rifleman with Chuck Conners. One thing that upset me being a railfan is that the train station was built for the Dr. Quinn show and when they finished filming, everything has to go back to the state the set was in when it was donated to the park. Train station gone :(...

Yes, things have definitely changed, but even so, I'm glad it's still there and fans can still visit the set. Excellent job on your photos! I haven't seen many taken in early spring like that and I enjoyed your perspective as a photographer. I'll share the link to your blog with some of the fan groups so everyone can enjoy. Thanks!
