São Pedro is a remote community in the Brazilian Amazon, serving as a frontier between agriculture and preserved native forest. Paranaíta, a small town with limited infrastructure, hosts the settlement, which was established through a government land reform program. Despite challenges faced by small farmers in the area, some have embraced fish farming to diversify their production and tap into markets valuing local products and regional Amazon species. Although the journey into aquaculture was initially demanding and required learning, these pioneers experienced personal and entrepreneurial growth, with promising outcomes along the way.
