A brand new original song based on Alastor the Radio Demon, featuring originally created backing music, sound design, voice acted story and artwork.
This one has been a long time coming after quite a wait, so what better way to kick of 2022 with some new original music of everyone's favourite deal maker? That theme was the central idea behind creating this song, to explore more of what Alastor became known for before he introduced himself to the rest of the hotel's occupants.
With Vaggie's mention of Alastor being known to others as a deal maker in the pilot episode, I created the story and general setup of this song to reflect that where Alastor tempts unsuspecting sinners (who specifically aren't aware of his reputation) into taking his offers because of what he can do, all while insisting on them to grit their teeth and bear with the consequences. Husk's appearance in the this song is also a possible interpretation of how the pair of them worked together, acting as reinforcement to make sure their targets "sign up".
The instrumentation is also my attempt to make a more polished sound for Alastor compared to my previous attempts at song making for him. I utilised a ton of brand new brass libraries to really sell the big band and jazz sound, while also using a lot of synthetic elements and sound processing to really highlight how Alastor's supernatural powers and threat contrast with how old-timey and high spirited his music/radio aesthetic is.
Finally, another gigantic thank you in order for DarlingKazoodle for providing such hauntingly awesome artwork for the cover art. After their previous work helping me with the Lucifer project a while back, their idea for Alastor to be stretching his smile unnaturally wide as his way of insisting upon the song's message was just so accurate to what I was hoping for. My theory is actually that he made deals with weaker deamons until he was strong enough to take out overlords then stole everything from the ovelords (canonically speaking each deal a demon makes makes them stronger) then after he gets to a point were he could take over hell(the pride ring), someone stronger than any 1 sinner showed up and beat his ass, then made a deal with him were he could no longer make deals for peoples souls, to keep him from just straight up taking over

I think out of all the fan songs this is the best one. Charlie and Vaggie are already aware of "the radio demon" but newbies to hell have no clue, so the pilot wasn't able to really show how he "makes his deals" sucessfully. Alastor is so charming and convincing that it's no wonder he was able to rise the ranks so fast, and I think this is the song that gives you that visual more than the others do

Ed Bosco and Black Gryphon are both wonderful and talented men. I really hope there isn’t a recast and that this was just an early April fools prank, but truly if they are being recast (to my disdain and the rest of the community’s disdain as well,) 100% this guy deserves the part. Something about the menacing, cruel happiness just makes this whole. The portentous first piano chord got me, and me as a knowing audience can enjoy it just as sadistically as Alastor himself. I also love how you bring in a little history on Husker's partnership with Al. He is just as trapped as the people he is supposed to convince will be, and the reason Husker is a great pick for the job is he doesn't care enough to make a big effort to protect the unknown prey. Along with the catchy jazz tunes- you did it again!

Also I think the one he is making a deal with is Vox, and in Vox's song he says he "killed the radio" and radio is in red, and then starts the next line with "they will see". This makes me think Valentino and Alastor either are enemies or are partners and have made a deal with each other. So I think Val and Alastor are competing for Hell's audience. Alastor wants people to be entertained by the radio, while Val uses Vox to broadcast his product. Vox is a modern way of broadcasting that makes the radio useless. So radios are being replaced by TVs in Hell. Which is what Val wants and the opposite of what Alastor wants.

Okay like, what the fuck. How have you nailed every original song?? This is /everything/ I imagine al to make a song about! The beat, the style, the smiles- and pulling in husk was absoulte genius! The only thing I could take any issue with is husk's voice being a bit smoother than expected, but singing in that would be rough and his voice hurts after long enough of speaking in it. OUT. STAN. DING. Another fantastic original song to add to the bag! The tune is so catchy! I know this will be stuck in my head for a long time! Perfect beat for a showman like Alastor! I can almost picture something like this happening in an episode! And adding Husk makes it all the more interesting! He doesn't even bother trying to convince the sinner to say no, he just says to get it over with so he can go back to drinking. I also love how Al just gets straight to the point. "Here's the deal, I grant you a favor, you answer my calls whenever and wherever, and I'll be there to collect your soul once you finally fall." Bravo, DJ! Brilliant as always!!

I would propose an agreement over a deal Ill help you if you help me but neither side is obligated to do so. Its beneficial to both sides while requiring no commitment (yes that means you cant force someone to do something they don't want to do which is probably the whole point of making deals in the first place. But as history has shown, get people to believe in you enough and they will do anything for you.)

Okay here we go, I’ve heard a Disney worthy track before in Change The Order. This tops that one by a lot, and it also makes Alastor’s character seem like an evil genie which is exactly what I thought of him in the Hazbin Hotel pilot. In other words you managed to capture Viv’s vision for Alastor perfectly, even the inclusion of Husk basically knowing all the ins and outs of how Alastor’s deals work is a detailed that I wasn’t sure of before, but going back to the pilot, it’s definitely there. This is Pixar level production here and I love it, keep up the amazing work.

In the 4 years between the pilot and the first episode the internet managed to churn out so many villain songs for the Radio Demon. They struck gold with this character, and his clear-cut villainous nature is part of why he's so damn magnetic. 😈👍

Yet another FANTASTIC song! Seriously, you knock these out of the park every time! I'm so glad I finally got to make it to a premiere! I was bopping my head!! It's so delightfully jazzy and yet with just the right unsettling undertones. Just like Alastor! AND THE HUSK VERSE WOW! Just an incredible delight. I was certainly smiling and I meant it!

This song is proof that you can manipulate people with music. I was doing track today and i couldnt get this song out of my head, and i kept repeating the same lines over and over in my head the entire time, "smile like you mean it- grit your teeth and get right to it" and after about 10-15 minutes of it, i realized i was smiling despite all the pain i was feeling (i had ran about 2 miles at that point and im usually a sprinter but i joined distance), im also not used to smiling, especially in public unless its around my friends. So either my brain was forcing me to smile or the radio demon straight up took control.

I still firmly believe after all this time- when I first heard DJ's take on "Insane" (which is how I found them), they're still my FAVORITE Alastor voice. People tend to forget that back in the 20s and 30s, radio talk show hosts always had to speak from basically behind their nose so their voices could carry through. The radio technology of the time couldn't capture a normal masculine tone easily because of its frequencies, so talk show hosts would always have to speak "from their nose" in a higher tone in order to be heard. So - I think Alastor with this higher tone fits him PERFECTLY-! I get so excited when PARANOiD posts Alastor content- they have the best Alastor voice to date in my opinion and I especially enjoy the vocals when it comes to singing. All the Alastor songs/covers they've made are just huge comfort songs to me since Alastor's original singing voice from the pilot- I didn't like at all even though Alastor is my favorite from Vivzie's universe. SO THANK YOU PARANOiD! YOU DO AMAZING VOICES IN GENERAL AND PLEASE KNOW THAT I'M A HUGE FAN OF YOUR ALASTOR VOICE ESPECIALLY!!!

That was AWESOME! I loved the ingenius Alastor-like lyrics and the reinforcement Husker gave before pratically giving up and just wanting to go and drink. Comedic and also horrifying! This one is probably one of my favourites. What a amazing kick to start 2022!

The most interesting part for me is when Husker says "doing what you want is the cost I pay." It implies that Husker was once an unsuspecting sinner who ended up being found by Alastor who offered him a deal and he accepted. It's a very interesting idea and I hope it's something they explore more in the actual show. (it also ties in to how when Alastor summons him to help with the hotel, he says "I took it upon myself to volunteer your services" and Husker said "what do you want from me this time?" Both statements imply Alastor had asked favors of him before, perhaps as the price for a deal they made) Overall, this is just a fantastic song!

There's a speculation that Husk and Alastor are friends, but nowhere is there any evidence of them even acting like friends. This is exactly what I think so I wholeheartedly agree with this comment. Husk somehow made a deal or was blackmailed by Alastor and now he's Alastor's henchman basically.

i should be oh so ashamed for being late to this masterpiece! the beat of this song is so nice, and so is the whole song itself! despite them taking a bit more, original songs are simply LOVELY. even the sounds! the sound effects of walking, clothes moving around, every detail despite not being an actual music video, it blesses my ears! amazing work!

Even tho Alastor is Evil and he is trying to Convince that Guy to Sell His Soul to Him, The Message his Conveying through his song is Actually pretty Wholesome! Essentially what he is Saying is that you can Face anything no matter how Difficult or Dangerous it is ,as long as you Smile your Way through it. And that you should also sometimes take chances and risks in life to get what you want and improve your Situation.
