"We do video calls a lot. During the coronavirus period, many people had meetings via video call and asked about each other's well-being. I also had a lot of video calls, and when I hung up the video call, I thought, 'Was this really with the person over there?' And when I meet with them via video call and then meet again, it feels like I haven't seen them in a long time, or it feels like I saw them just yesterday. It used to be that you just moved away and then you parted ways, but now the way we form relationships with each other is changing a little bit differently than it used to be, so I thought, maybe there's a time coming soon when people who have died won't be dead forever and will continue to communicate with us, and so I thought if we take that and think about the people that we've lost, the people that we've sent first, or the people that we're going to say goodbye in the future, how do we continue to relate to them? That seemed like a bigger question, and so I just wrote about that (for the film)."

"After a long time, I'm grateful to say hello to you through the film 'Wonderland.' Nowadays, with the development of AI, or deep fake, deep learning, everything, technology is getting more and more advanced, and the message of this movie is 'What would I think, what would I choose, what would be the real me?' I hope it's a time when we can find a clear answer and not get baffled, and I hope there will be more opportunities to meet each other, either through greetings on stage or if more people come as the audience."

"As I mentioned earlier, it's not about how new AI technology is, but how we live in the AI era, and I think the systematic problems involving regulation and ethics, whether it's (involving) a school or a family, are common to the whole world. So before, it was a matter of which country started which technology first, but now it (technological developments) is starting at the same time, and, as you said, in Korea, there are a lot of issues about ethics and norms being talked about right now, so the movie industry is much more sensitive to that because the technology is developing day by day, as you said, and now individuals are thinking about them (potential technological change), but I think we still need to have more time to come together as a whole to discuss them."
