Following-on from PARD SA45LRF Thermal scope pt.1 ( • PARD SA45LRF Thermal s... ), here’s the concluding part, including observing paddock life out to 200m+.
I also check/compare the LRF distances out to 175m against my own Pard 008LRF - all tie-in nicely.
Unfortunately the horses were camera shy this evening, but an anonymous stable customer handily walked across the paddock in front of me. This nicely shows the thermal graduations the SA45 picks-up, albeit (in my experience) not quite as good a differentiation as the SAIM SCL35 & SCT35 would pick-up.
I would say however the bonus of having an onscreen LRF readout is invaluable, especially for air rifles (yes, even FAC) and especially at night when range estimation is notoriously difficult.
Then I included some of Bruce’s man-cave-recorded footage (as he was getting to grips with the menus and functions), plus some footage of Deer on one of his Permissions -recorded out to 350+yards.
Once again thanks very much to Bruce (@Phoenix on the UK NV forum and ThermalHuntingForum, @mealiejimmie on the airgun forum) -for all his time, expertise, hard work and insights.
