Nice ! For information, Modane is a French Town. It's the last town before Italy. Modane Station is a border station with Italy, like Ventimiglia is a border station with France. The first italien town after the border is bardonecchia.

There are different ways.if you want buy Italian trains tickets there is official app called Trenitalia you can buy most of Italian train tickets from Trenitalia.second option is Eurail world pass.buy eurail world pass and reserve seats.app called Eurail/interrail planner
