For our second caravan trip, we decided to head to Pooley Bridge, Ullswater, in the Lake District. We booked a pitch at Park Foot Campsite for 2 nights. We went on 27th December, so the weather wasn't the best. We had rain for the full 2 days.
We have heard amazing things about this caravan park, and to be honest, it was one of the few caravan sites still open at this time of the year.
We will definitely be coming back to the site in the summer as we do want to invest in a paddleboard, and this seems to be the perfect place for paddleboarding.
On day one, we went to Pooley bridge which is only a 5-minute walk, the town is small but very cute. We ate at a lovely pub called The Crowne Inn, the food was good, and it was very cosy. After food, we found a brilliant little alcohol shop (The Big Shop with a Little Door) with lots of different spirits and flavours. We bought the Kendal mint vodka, which was nice.
On day 2, the weather was still awful, so we decided to take a drive into Windermere, and we thought we would take the kids to the World of Beatrix Potter.
