Such a great video to watch here In the UK. My son and I have done similar things but not so many miles. The most funniest story was my son buying a VW campervan sold as non-running. The owner was told It needed a new wiring loom. When my son went into the sellers place to sign the UK logbook (Title) and pay for It, I was underneath the engine with the ignition turned on and I had a U-shaped bit of wire, I flashed the starter terminals as It started. My son came out to see me smiling and heard the unmistakable sound of a air cooled VW engine so also smiled, the seller's face was shocked, but knowing It now ran, started by some old guy and a bit of wire/ LOL

That thing would make a great hunting camper! Fill the tank, get the generator working and put it up on blocks! Take out the old stove and put in a small wood burner and add a solar system and you can ride out the zombie apocalypse in style! 😉

This was fun. Took me back to a buddy and I heading to Illinois to buy a Winnebago. Tires were equally questionable, turn signals didn't work and the radiator leaked like a fountain. We loaded up 35 gallons of water. Circled ST Louis twice as this was pre GPS and cell days and I missed my turn off on the bypass. Must have stopped 8 times filling up with water. Nerves were shot when we made it back to SE Missouri. This made me relive that trip 🙂 Oh... after getting the RV parked, something resembling a shotgun going off sounded. Went outside to investigate. Front tire on that death trap blew just setting the the yard.

When the engine spun around I got a smile on my face, it was at that time I knew I had to subscribe. I hauled scrap in Philadelphia for years. From yard to shredder and dumped, then I would go shopping. A bazillion tools for every job. Every once in a while something old and cool would pop up. If I was smart I would have opened my own yard. Keep it up, I'm in the Tucson desert enjoying your channel immensely. I would suggest trading the two piece rims for anything else but a two piece rim off the RV!

That thing is incredible, not often you see a custom vehicle built that is such a huge project. Even looks in pretty good shape for sitting so long, impressive!

A brand fire new subscriber here guys, all the way from the UK, the home of Perkins Diesel Engines. I have really enjoyed watching you get this beast back running and driving again. Here is a crazy thing, you have a "one of a kind" vehicle there with a Perkins. Here in the UK I have a early 60s International CO 1800 truck with a Perkins 6.354 in it. It too is a "one of a kind" vehicle. International had been building normal bonneted trucks here for a couple years, when they built just a handful pre-production RHD cabover trucks. They exhibited them at the annual big truck show in London, and they attracted a lot of interest, mainly because of the tilt cab, but sadly for whatever reason they never made it into full production. Shortly after International quit building trucks altogether here. I believe my truck is the only one here in the UK. Can't wait to go see your other videos. Many thanks David in the UK.

Hey Brody, that's $400.00 well spent! Get some better tires, convert it to a 2-battery set up and an alternator! I would suggest try to get one from an ambulance, that will power up everything with no problems! I used to take care of an ambulance fleet back in the 90's I might still have one laying around in my shed. What's good about those alternators, the regulator is built right in. I would bet the engine just needs new valve seals probably got brittle and dried up sitting all those years. Enjoyed the video, good luck with that RV she looks great.

Weird but cool!

Take the tire off the inside dual and just run the rim. Have had to do it more times than I care to admit. A flat tire can come apart and do a lot of damage, to you and other motorists.

omg, just found y'all. been on few "adventures" in my time. until you said it was fuel injection, (that white smoke usually means gas) I figured you would need to blow out the carbs. My drive home song after it came out was always, "there ain't nothing wrong with the radio".

Did that engine come out of a combine, or industrial. i no vermeer carries alot of perkins stuff, kinda pricey from them but they carry alot of Perkins engine parts and filters in stock unless you cross reference. Good job guys, and happy holidays fellers.

I converted a 1999 pop up into a 14 foot camper perfect for a fishing camper. I pull it with a 2002 gmc Yukon. It also has a slide out. I tried to attach a picture but it wouldn’t let me

im curious as to how much boost pressure the turbo is putting in the engine , if its too low that may cause some smoke, plus how much filtered air is it getting , it looks like the air intake hose could leak some dirty air.

With just little work no matter how old or new it is you can drive across the country I took a 73 chevy 3/4 ton truck from reno Nevada that belong to my grandfather that was bought new all the way to South Texas and still have today with original miles 43k

Rebuild the generator and fix the lights and fuel system change all fluids and update the interior and put a hitch on it for a trailer then you can use it to buy more vehicles and hia spot for tools and supplies plus save on hotels add solar system with 1000 watt amg batteries to power everything

It just saw this video. That's pretty freaking awesome. I like you guys was ready because they're funny. Yeah that motorhome. I don't know if it's my homemade, but to me it kind of reminded me of those old style bread trucks. The one from Wonder bread but that's a huge motorhome so I hope you guys put a diesel motor in there a better one and keep us informed what you guys are going to do to it. Thanks again! I wonder if it might have a turbo problem? I’m having the same problem right now,(although not a 6.354 - or a Perkins at all) chucking out loads of grey smoke and my turbo is on the way out. I assume you guys made sure all the air intake hoses are good.
