the parking authority where i live is all automated, they drive by in a car with a bunch of special cameras and license plate readers, then mail you your ticket and you don't even know what you did wrong until 2 weeks after the fact

I love it when people say "You can't get registration without insurance!" like it's some slam dunk. No. It just shows you had insurance AT THAT TIME, they have no idea if you do CURRENTLY and they need proof.

I wish just once the ticketer would say, "Originally, you said you didn't understand the law. When I explained, you changed the goalposts to say you understand the law but it doesn't make sense. My job is to help you understand the law, and you seem to indicate I've done that. My job doesn't have anything to do with whether laws make sense. If you want laws to make sense, talk to your politicians."

Nah, just changing demographics in that area. Very few restaurants stay open on South St for more than a few years. Higher rents, etc . Covid and the crappy city government didn't help

That's because the meters are not expensive enough. Street parking has a fixed supply, as opposed to garage parking, and street parking is more convenient so is usually considered more desirable, so it should cost more than garage parking.
