My mum is diagnosed with Parkinson when she was only 38 years old too .. and we have been coping with her disease for more than 10 years now ... It is not only important for the person who suffers the disease to think positive ... it is Much More important for those around them to understand what they are going through and try to keep up .... I HATE those ppl who ACTUALLY thinks that my mum uses it as an excuse to escape hardwork! They dunno half of the truth & are being very unsupportive !!

Thank you for telling your story. I am 62, diagnosed when I turned 60. I am very bent over & "impossible" to stand up straight. You have beautiful posture! Take care, & keep up what is making your neck & back aligned so well:)

I like this lady and listening to her. My father has been diagnoised and I will share this video with him and my Mom. I think a support group is a great idea. Support is what he needs! Thanks!

Thanks for this video. Though I was diagnosed a couple of years ago it never occurred to me to search PD on KZfaq until tonight. I'm going to be on here a while looking at the masses of stuff there is here. Hope you're doing ok.

I was diagnosed 6 yrs ago when i was 48. Like this lady simple tasks can be a challenge like getting out of bed or just getting dressed. When my medication has kicked in I'm a different person but then you get the off periods . Learning to live with it is hard, I was once asked to leave a large dept store cos i was " rocking & rolling " cos i'd forgotten to take my pills and they thought i was drunk . I have had to give up work now. You have to learn to beat it or it will beat you.

@oarmedt Can you please tell me what the early symptoms consisted of? Did you ever have periods of muscle stiffness and pain that last for weeks and then subsided for a short time only to return?

Good luck with your challenge. For my education, could I please ask if people with Parkinsons Disease typically have no facial expression (mask) or a constantly changing facial expression (no motor control)?

I share your symptoms and your observations. People see us when the meds are working and not often when we are brought to our knees in pain and have to crawl from room to room. PD is a cruel and expensive mistress. I do find that the creative side helps reduce the pain and symptoms, however, and have posted my performance at the Parkinson's Disease Foundation Bal du Printemps as a response to your video. All the best, Peter Thompson
