Lyrics
From crooked faith, the darkness flows
From hallowed halls, through broken homes
To prey upon the weakest lamb
The cruelest heart is truly
Man
And when the judgment came, they told us “turn away”
As their laughter whipped the halls like cracking bones
Small words and hollow gestures, the rats are closing ranks
They paint themselves as angels, oh so wrong
Libera nos
Libera nos
Deliver us from the blackest of mass
Libera nos
Libera nos
Deliver us justice for the lost
Straight down
I see their wings are burning
But it’s a shallow fall
Straight down
I see their wings are burning
There are no halos to be found
So save your breath
Nothing here is sacred, nothing is divine
If heaven’s gates are open, then I think I’ll wait in line
Nothing here is holy when every faith is blind
So save your breath, I don’t need more excuses
Libera nos
Libera nos
Deliver us from the blackest of mass
Libera nos
Libera nos
Deliver us justice for the lost
But it’s a shallow fall
It’s a shallow fall
Straight down
I see their wings are burning
But it’s a shallow fall
Straight down | I see their wings are burning
There are no halos to be found
I’ll never see through the eyes of your lord
But I have seen through the eyes of a child
I hope you rot
Straight down
I see their wings are burning
But it’s a shallow fall
Straight down
I see their wings are burning
There are no halos to be found
From crooked faith, the darkness flows
From hallowed halls, through broken homes
To prey upon the weakest lamb
The cruelest heart is truly
Man

As someone who grew up in a super religious christian household and had it destroy my life, this song hits hard. A friend of mine was also molested by one of the older priests in our church. The line "I'll never see through the eyes of your lord but I have seen through the eyes of a child. I hope you rot", gave me fucking chills. This is one of the best metal songs I've heard in 20 plus years.

I grew up in a religious family, I guess our families followed a different Christian root. I had bad and good experiences too. I think its really hard to present God in a right form! Im very sad when people have this kind of bad experience, shouldnt be like this. But I agree this line gives chill!!

@@hendrixgameplays2624 I have my own way of believing and i believe everybody has the freedom to believe in what they want to believe. My family believes in religion our own way. My way is different from others because those that touch children and hurt them don't know that it's completely against the religion. I'm not going to get into it but hurting children is actually a sin, Because they are his children. But anyways people believe in their own ways. I'd rather be a leader not a follower of a religion. I believe everyone has their free will in this religion.

To all those kids crying over the fact the band has grown and evolved. Get over it. That's what happens. All bands, from avenged sevenfold, slipknot, and bullet for my valentine have had to grow and move on. Those bands that don't get left behind. And die off. Like limp biscuit. As a prime example. It's life. You can prefer the old stuff, but don't cry about new stuff. Alt least they are still putting out fresh music. Most can't continue to do so

This is all that's happening.. And I love it.. The colour of leaving makes me well up.. I hope you rot gives me chills along with cemetery bloom I mean you can hear lyrically and vocally how personal this album is and because its not in your face heavy your calling it dad rock and saying its shit.. That's quite closed minded of everyone to be fair.

derrick3131 There is no reason to get so worked up over a comment that is clearly a joke. I just happened to stumble upon this while browsing KZfaq it's not like I rushed here or anything. You know, the idea of a "Inb4" comment is doing it BEFORE the other people comment, it's kind of self explanatory. I'm sure you didn't mean to insult me and that we can get along just fine. Being honest with you I still think Horizons is better than this, and I think this new album was alright but nothing too outstanding. Have a nice day and enjoy the new album!

The Void and Prey are a little bit too generic but the rest of the album is incredible! Reverence keeps the usual Parkway Drive vibe but it has something new and experimental too. Especially, I love the latin choruses in this one. Seriously, I can't understand how people can hate on this

Would have to disagree there. I feel like prey is generic but they perform it welll. And void- again possibly generic but parkway add their twist onto it and make it theirs

ive seen a lot of people bitch about this album but Winston did state that the new album would be darker, and off the deep end. they wanted to expand on their music. he even said its going to be totally different but try to be the best they could be. we can disagree, just try to open your mind a little. i personally find the album different and great.
