The live version that you should be watching is the live version from the Summit in Houston Texas, recorded on October 31st, 1976. The entire concert from the Summit was one of their greatest performances on film.

What a great band! I recommend their song Maggot Brain. Eddie Hazel performs one of the greatest guitar solos of all time.

The best version of Cosmic Slope is on the Funkadelic album Hardcore Jollies. Although this is an excellent version as well. I am P-Funk-4-Life since 1975. Great music 🎶.

@@ReactionsToTheClassics Yes, it was awesome but it was the 1970’s when people had to know how to play and people listened to everything. I was in high school but I saw Yes, Earth Wind and Fire, and the Isley Brothers when Ernie Isley was play guitar like Jimi Hendrix. Ernie was the only one who was taught by Hendrix himself. The only thing I regret was not seeing Led Zepplin when I had the chance. I also saw many jazz greats at that time...

Oh wow Carl! I am very envious! Didn't know that about Ernie either.

@@ReactionsToTheClassics There are a few Isley Brothers albums where you can hear Ernie go Hendrix on guitar. On those album covers you will see Ernie wearing a long headscarf like Hendrix.

Well Maggot brain is revered by all musiians, Johnny Greenwood (Radiohead) says it's his no 1. I saw them at Hammersmith . They had a big face on stage with a, ahem, big cigarette out of his mouth. And I think Glen (Goins) was not chugging on tobacco here.

Shawn, I never heard of the artists. This is from the '70's.? This song has a funky rhythm and sound. The song moves at a steady pace, I hear a blend of horns and guitar and drums, but it's the guitar that stands out. That is an excellent lead guitar The music builds and the harmonies are good. You are right, it is hard to focus on the lyrics because the music is quite interesting instrumentally. Your comments are straight to the point. Cool reaction.
