Solid song? One of their best songs? Were we listening to the same thing? This was a masterful performance from the era. These guys took a gospel-based song, converted it to the then-new Funk genre, introduced an entire horn section, threw in a visual story, and even added visual effects as the icing on the cake. The Parliaments raised the bar for everything else. They were much more than solid. They were stupendous.

I like to think Glen would have gone on to be huge as a solo artist or with his own band. He was THAT good. This is like a religious experience he's having. It gives the theme of this album more double meaning and depth.
