One thing that really bugs me, wasn't Dash an old friend of Gilda before she meets Twi and pals? In which case her abandoning Gilda completely just for rude behavior against her new friends seems like an act of betrayal, or least overreacting to the problem. Now that we know Griffons are not the best at socializing, i wonder how Gilda felt after that day. Her "best" friend dumping her to go off with someone else. If i remember correctly, she did stomp off on her own at the end of the episode, but still, must have been painful.

I know this is an old comment, but I don't think Gilda being an older friend of Rainbow has any relevancy. If I present an old friend to my new friends and that old friend is being a bully, I'm gonna get angry at that friend. Gilda didn't apologize to Fluttershy or Pinkie for what she did, she left because she felt betrayed but she was bullying. Think about it from Fluttershy's perspective, Rainbow brings a new friend that treats her horribly and Rainbow just says "She was my friend before you, so she comes first." I always thought that the lesson of that episode was calling out awful behavior even if that behavior comes from your friends. And if they refuse to see the wrong of their actions, there's nothing wrong with leaving them, especially if they hurt others.

@@kiaraw.1436 You are right.She could've been RD's sister, and that still won't be ok.But in a way, the OP also makes sense, because RD shouldn't just abandon Gilda, she could've just talked to her afterwards.And honestly, at least in my opinion, that would've made a better moral than just kicking her out for being rudeSo this is not to excuse Gilda's behaviour, but RD was a jerk too

3:20 oh I totally disagree, I actually really liked this plot point because it show Dash’s fly ability does have limits. She’s a very strong flyer, but she isn’t some kind of superpony. It’s kind of like how Usain Bolt is a very fast runner, but he isn’t the Flash.

It wasn't actually centered around Fluttershy. She was merely the catalyst that forced pinkie to take action. But Gilda had been a jerk to pinkie pie three times prior to the Fluttershy incident. Also Fluttershy didn't tell anyone about the Gilda encounter that day.

These are being done at the rate of one per month, meaning that even after season 9 ends he will still have countless more episodes to do, allowing for a constant flow of new pony content after the end of the show to help keep this fandom alive. This is an arrangement I can get behind!!

Remember when bronies used the original gilda episode as an argument that rainbow dash doesn’t deserve the element of loyalty, because she ignored pinkie pie to hang out with gilda? Well taking into account that dash and gilda were friends since the academy, dash still spending time with gilda years later just proves that she is loyal to her all of friends, even outside the main six
