How did you know I needed this? I have 250 square feet is this exact stuff sitting in the shed waiting for me to get ambitious enough to redo the kitchen!

Awesome job, Andrew. Especially I really like what you did to install the 2nd laminate at bathroom door. Comparing to what direction that your hardwood floor & laminate floors install, we can see that either your laminate floors or hardwood floor (in the other room) is not perpendicular (not cross your joists at a right angle). Several pros. say that the way hardwood floors/ laminate floors shouldn't be parallel with joists. Please let me know why the direction you install laminate is not the same as you did for hardwood floor. Special thanks.

Thanks!

I chose to go perpendicular because I wanted to cut fewer times so I ran the planks the length of the bathroom. So it was pure laziness and wanting the littlest amount of waste possible.

No laminate is waterproof

Since it's all plastic, it isn't going to swell if water is left on it. When installed properly, water shouldn't penetrate where the planks connect.

laminate is not suitable for the toliet. the water will make it expanded and damaged! at least need to use SPC floor

Thanks for the comment. The laminate I used is plastic and can't expand with water.

@@bigto925 I probably used the term laminate too loosely. The part of the flooring you see and walk on, is a laminate, in that it's a thin overlay and the rest of the flooring that's thicker is ugly plastic.
