Strength = how hard one can throw a tomato. Dexterity = how well one can dodge a tomato. Constitution = how much it hurts when a tomato hits you. Intelligence = whether or not one knows that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom = knowing whether or not to put tomato in a fruit salad. Charisma = how much others want to throw tomatoes at you.

Tomato is vegetable in a vegetable vs.fruit sence. Comfusion comes from lack of words to differenciate two meanings in english In my language we have different words for "fuit" 1. Fruit="ovocie" Like apple, orange , strawberry, not tomato!!! 2.Fruit="plod" Seed-bearing structure that develops from the ovary of a flowering plant. (here can be tomato)

@@jamesmayle4712 Jesus of Nazareth was a regular man whose teachings were twisted by greedy men for political gain, and he has been dead for 2000 years. Furthermore, if such a thing as a god exists, I hope it wouldn't be as callous, petty, childish and vain as to require the adoration of a random species of talking primates on a random planet orbiting a random star near the edge of a random galaxy. I'd also assume this entity would have far more important things to worry about than said primates' genitalia, or who they want to share their lives with, or any number of other completely inconsecuential things these creatures could do. In short, if there actually is a god, I sure as hell hope it's not the Christian/Jewish/Muslim one (they are all the same, by the way, originally known as Yahweh), because if it is, then this life truly is nothing but a sick joke.

Wanted to pin this comment, so folks know; Originally I was going to do this as one video, but editing time and the overall length convinced me to split it up. It should be a 4 part total series, I may do a super condensed 5th video, that covers the basic steps of character creation without any explanation BUT I feel that it's important to try and EXPLAIN certain things so people understand what they are actually doing. Hopefully this series will help, sorry it has to go out 1xday. As always, please do feel free to leave feedback (good and bad) to help me improve! :)

@danielcastillo591
@danielcastillo591 4 жыл бұрын
@@commandercaptain4664 It's less about presence and more about your way of interaction and capacity for both genuine conversations or deceptive deeds Charisma means being intimidating, being charming, being convincing, basically plenty forms of portraying yourself the way you want to For example, someone shy with high char might be a sweetheart that can win your heart if they were to try, or they speak eloquently whenever they decide to do so A non charismatic rogue would mean a rogue without these abilities, meaning you earn and lose some aspects about the whole "sneaking around" kind of ordeal Think James Bond for a high char rogue, and agent 47 as a low char rogue Both get the job done, but their vibes and methods are way different Sorry, I'm kind of a dork about charisma, it's a really under appreciated stat

Heyo Mark! Gotta say that I love the way you approached this as a sort of explanation instead of what we see on other D&D channels where someone actually makes a character. I love your approach, I often find myself compelled to look at classes first, then at the races and then all the other stuff. Yes, I have a history of being a min-maxer in DnD, yet I do agree that concept far outweighs stats and feature, even though I love all the rules grinding. I feel that 5e actually turned over a leaf for being less rulesy and more open to interpretation. It is more about why your character is than what he is or how he does things, the classic - Why, how and then what approach. If I were to give a suggestion (Save DC 15), it is to actually look at character backgrounds before anything else, at least if you want to avoid min-maxing and making a stereotypical robot of a character like I used to do - Unless you play a warforged, that method doesn't bring out alot of character, and even then it would be a pretty soulless living construct even if you were to play a min--maxed warforged :P

The only thing that i'd say to improve now, but it's minor, is to get some sound bites in there. So maybe a swiping sound for a lower third and some thuds for the lists. Also some song for the outro/intro. Not fully informed on this stuff and it would probably cost money although i know there are free alternatives. Still, something to keep in mind and it's only minor ;)

Great feedback, thank you! I'm not 100% sold on noises for the lower thirds, seen a few folks do it and it can be very annoying and divides audience. I'll test it out in edits. I agree I should sort out some more consistant stings for the outros. (Intros tend to be my weird sketches so need to vary).

This is a terrific series of videos. Thank you very much for making them. I am getting back into the D&D hobby after being away for 20 years - work, kids, life, etc., took priority over gaming. Needless to say the rules are a bit different from the days of THAC0! These videos explained very well how to create a new character. Oh another change from the last time I played D&D, this time I am teaching my daughter how to play. Peace.

Ive been needing a video like this. I am going to DM a game this summer with all new players, and I have been playing DnD for almost a decade now. The concept of not understanding the game has become foreign and things I take as normal arent to others. This is a perfect way of explaining this to the players :)

THANK YOU!!! This series clearly and methodically explains exactly how to fill in and use every slot on the AD&D 5e character sheet! (WHY DOESN'T THE Players Handbook DO THIS???) First time playing D&D since 2nd Edition and I did not want to stall he game I'm joining asking questions! 10/10!

You are absolutely correct about below ten stats. One can build characters around the flaws and weave them in his story instead of complaining he was dealt a bad hand. Here are some numbers I just got while rolling a new character: 8, 16, 7, 15, 8, 16. You have the flexibility to either play a frail Spellcaster with high INT/WIS/CHAR or like I just did go Half-Orc Barbarian and get STR 18, DEX 16, CON 16, INT 7, WIS 8, CHAR 8. Waaaaaaaagh!!!!! I love this.

7:29 That's why I use the standard 3d6 system. It helps scale a character easier and better when leveling and with adventure design, it greatly differentiates the party between themselves, and it's more fun to play flawed adventurers than god tier neophytes.

I'm making a DnD character on my own for the first time ever, I'm in a DnD group and have had two characters already (I purposefully killed off one character and am on the second) and the group has helped me make those two characters, but now I'm making my backup character on my own, and I had no clue what i was doing up until this vid. so yeeeeee. also our DM hates gnomes and I don't blame him.

Me and my sisters have been discussing playing and they said I should be DM, but I wanna play as a character so we're trying to persuade our oldest sister to be the game master. Our way of convincing is saying "think about how many times you could try to kill us."
