Links to the 2 swords mentioned in the video plus the new sword review of Physcool sword: The cheaper is currently unavailable at the time of writing this. Watch the video to speculate on reasons why...
1: More expensive (about 20 pounds or less - decent purchase)

2: Cheaper at 10 pounds approx (Not recommended so not giving link)
3: Physcool New Retractable Sword (see next video for full review)

I have one of these retractable swords that I bought of eBay a while ago. I us it for home practice as I don’t have much space and I use my proper sword when training with my class. These retractables are useful too if you are travelling and want to practice while you are away.

Thanks for your comment Mark. I’ve found over time that the retractable swords tend to get stuck occasionally - either in or out- which could be awkward when teaching, so always a good idea to have a proper one on hand.

If I were to find a backup retractable Tai Chi sword, the Zooboo sword (the £20 sword you've shown) you first looked at along with the cheapo sword would be my choice, Paul. The second sword does look to be of slightly better quality compared to the cheap sword but when compared to the Physcool sword (hopefully, I'll get one), it'll be middle ground between the three you own.

Quang Tran Thanks for your comment. I agree and have felt quite attached to my £20 version throughout the course. I’m returning to Spain next week where I’m going to complete my 3rd and final review having now finished filming. I think you’ll find it will echo your your feelings too.

Would these be safe for filming or are they too sharp
@teapotmonk

They are blunt so safe for filming. Only thought would be that the cheaper models tend to collapse in on themselves at unexpected times. Something to bear in mind.

An opponent? No. If you ask me can they cut you? As you’ll discover, it can happen if they are badly made and fall apart.

The gloves were to close the blade

Ahhh. Ok. Thanks. Wasn't clear at all in the box. Not really practical though is it? Carry a set of gloves around just to put on after you finish in order to close the blade. Cheaper swords don't provide gloves and better ones don't need them. You get what you pay for I suppose.
