If you haven't done it yet, the ghost holes are already there for your back seats. There's already a nut welded to the bottom. You'll need to find the holes from underneath the truck and then drill a hole through it and then you can re-tap it to clean it up. Bada Bing Bada boom. I show how it's done in my seat swap video. Great build! Thanks for taking the time to share it.

A spotbot with upholstery attachment is the way to go; keeps the seats from getting saturated with water and actually pulls the dirt out vs just wiping it off.

Good job! I did the complete interior on my 87 Mustang twice, so I know the feeling of a lot of work and then the satisfying result. Great idea on the carpet holes. I had to pull a bunch of bolts and brackets from a donor car to install the newer rear seats and seatbelts in my car the last time, but it all worked out well. You might need to put in some reinforcement under the cab for the new mounting bolts just to be safe. And could you mount the center console/seat back a few inches to give you enough shifter clearance room?

Side note when changing carpet out.... don’t leave new carpet laying in the sun, especially on a hot day . It will cause you to lose the mold. Mark it rolled it up and store in a cool place until you are ready to install. Then lay it in the vehicle and turn heater on to loosen the mold for a better fit. Should only have to trim the sides. And cut X’s instead of holes.

Great informative video content! Thanks for showing step by step! I need to redo my seats as well. My front seat has a small wear tear & sewed it up to stop it from getting bigger. I’m going to a reupholstery shop to get a price. Was the reupholstering cost higher than buying the new seats for you? What was the name of the material you would have used for the sound deadening underneath? Thanks again for all you do making your videos and I look forward to seeing your next videos!

@LivingOnWheels4 жыл бұрын
Nice work man! Its already looking much much better. SOOOO much room in those crew cabs! Makes me a bit jealous haha. As for the bolts, you don't need the specialty rubber ones. When I bolted in my hand controls I just replace the front seat bolts with some long grade 8 bolts. At this point, you notice any sound difference with the little more foam?
