The first time I went to do an engine oil change on my 04 dyna I drained the tranny by mistake, and didn’t realize until while adding oil to the engine and it overflowed out of the crank case 😂😂

Good morning Mr. Pacific. I know I've rattled your chain for quite some time now about working on twinkies and gotta say, I Love It! I have a 2002 carbed Night Train, as you know because you helped and guided me through so of my modifications including my 3.35" drag style open belt primary, which is still performing marvelously I might add. I know you'll probably get some old school hate for the TC but imho especially the 02 and being carbed, it has the timken bearings in the bottom end, I changed my timing to gear driven when i bumped up to a 95 ci so i don't have to worry about those pesky shoes breaking down along with other upgrades including heads, cams blah blah. Point being, she is a little ripper with a beautiful loping idle at about 975 rpm and personally I believe these engines are the modern day Evo's. Sure they made some mistakes and changes along the way but doesn't every generation have their flaws? It cracks me up when people talk bad about them when in fact they ran the TC for 20 years and I know a couple of folks whom have over 100k on their TC and haven't had to open her up, only basic maintenance. Thanks for bringing twin cams into your channel Mike. I know not everyone is going to love it but you got a huge fan over here in the Northeast who looks forward to seeing your skills and learning from the best. Your channel helps get me through these long cold winters and inspires me to constantly be wrenching on my bike for winter projects. Take care of yourself Mike

Thank you. I keep saying, "There's room for everyone." And yes, hard to believe it, but even my Knucklehead has faults. But, she can't read, so hopefully, no one will tell her I said so. I wish you and everyone up there a nice warm, early, Spring.

Hi mike. I dont think you mentioned it.? But i like to drain my motor oil with the motor hot or at least warmed up after a quick ride. I find the oil drains out a lot better When its hot. Best regards from GK. Australia. Keep up the good work.
@pacificmike95014 жыл бұрын
Probably so. I just let it drain for quite a while. The oil has already drained down to its lowest point internally, and I really don't like working on a hot bike. Just two schools of thought. I think we're both right.

Hi Mike, what do you put in your primary?, motor oil?, or primary oil?. Thanks man!. Love watching you work!
@pacificmike95013 жыл бұрын
Well, I run belt primaries on old bikes. On my Shovelhead, I use the standard circulating system it came with. On late model bikes, with "wet primary," I use primary oil in their bikes.

Mike, are you in the Southern California area? If so, do you still do work on bikes for customers or just friends? My Uncle use to run a shop out of the house in New York but sold his business (service manuals and tools) and now just does work for friends. I'm interested in seeing cam replacement/upgrade on a twin cam 103". I'm in Fallbrook just south of Temecula. Do you know of any solid mechanics in my area that would let me watch without having to pay extra :)? Love the videos Mike, if I was there it would be Mike(cubed), to the third power! God bless.

I have a 2002 dresser with 26,000 miles on it, and I don't have any noise. Should I be worried about this issue? Thank you again for all your help. God bless. Bob
@pacificmike95012 жыл бұрын
The standard thing people do is "upgrade" to the better improved versions of those parts. It's become pretty standard procedure. Your bike doesn't have a lot of miles on it yet, but it seems those original tensioners will wear out and need to be replaced. The improved, hydraulic units are much more desirable. I always hear to replace them around 50 thousand miles. I don't know. I would probably do it earlier.
@pacificmike95012 жыл бұрын
Be sure you check and see if your final drive belt will be long enough. Also, although not cheap, a 65 tooth rear pulley might be an easier answer too.

Hello Mike what could be the symptom s of having to much gear oil in transmission,how would the bike perform in a bad way?thnx
@pacificmike95013 жыл бұрын
It would just have a tendency to leak, blow seals. Technically, it would probably resist a little, but I don't think you could tell that. Generally, it would make things get messy and blow seals. Okay, I think I'd go clean it up first and go from there.

Hey mike, I have exactly the same model, my front fender is making noise when I go over some bump or hole, I can’t figure out how to solve. I already remove the fender and drove too see if stop, and it stop it. So do you have any tip? Change suspension oil? Fork brace?
@pacificmike95014 жыл бұрын
If the fender is making noise, either it's not mounted securely or the rivets that hold it to it's bracket are loose.
@gabriel9102BR4 жыл бұрын
Pacific Mike and I can change the rivets? Never saw this procedure.
