22 күн бұрынFlying to remain current, I depart from the Charlotte Monroe Executive Airport, only to find that my radio is not working very well. Well, there goes all of my planning for today's flight. If I can't effectively talk with Charlotte TRACON, I can't enter Class B Airspace, let along, work with them on flying the approach into Concord! Now, what am I going to do!!

Without the radio I would return to the airport I departed from. For sure if I’m only a couple of minutes airborne. Did you do a radio check when starting up? Did you set the right frequency? It’s very unlikely that your radio instantly fails. Did you check the fuses?

I haven't watched part two but have a few questions and concerns. Can you squawk a 'radio out' transponder code? Is it wise to continue a cross country flight with no way to declare an emergency or advise of any enroute changes to your flight plan? *A serious enough change in time or destination could prompt a SAR operation if you're somehow unable to contact anyone after your expected arrival time. How will you announce yourself to pattern traffic at any airport you intend to land at, or divert to?
