Thanks for showing your patch. I tried it out and used a delay in Ableton. It was a good exercise in seeing different ways to use this gem. Plus, I love how you use it in the song - such good music. Thank you!

I stumbled across your videos and have been super motivated,they remind me of how I used to create years ago before sequencers ruined the vibe for me but after watching you I see how I can go back to that style of work flow, Can you recommend a great entry level Moog to Me of the current and older models? I am going to definitely save you on my Spotify thanks Paul.

Yes I like the song a lot actually, if I have to describe your style hearing it for the first time it is something in between Air and Boards of canada and a hint of zero7.

Hi Paul, Very very beautiful. Have been on the fence about buying a Moog Voyager for a long while now - this did me in. Appreciate the video and all the time and effort that went into it. Am newer to analog synths, and the majority of KZfaq films don't show the Voyager in a more lush setting. My question for you is, how did you create the two tone output on certain keys? From roughly 6:30 onward? Was it just an octave shift? Again, thank you for sharing this.

Easy: You can "disconnect" Oscillator 3 from the Keyboard. There is a knob called "3 KB CONT" seen in the video 5:43 From there its like that: OSC 3 is playing the same note, no matter which key is pressed. OSC 1 and 2 - will react to the keyboard / OSC 3 NOT - so you can create a "polyphonic" impression kisses from austria

I just got a non-XL in January. That has been my dream synth for 10+ years. Sure the XL can do more, but more isn't always better/more inspiring and I feel the regular Voyager is the sweet spot atleast for me. Plus if you buy the non-XL and want to get really close to having an XL, you can buy the moogerfooger VX-351 and CP-251 expansion boxes and be 95% there (minus the extra keys, ribbon controller, and a few extra bells and whistles on the second LFO).

$20k and more in gears... question: why should I donate anything?
@paulruben-sounddesign3748
@paulruben-sounddesign3748 5 жыл бұрын
For a better understanding why a donation is very helpful and important for me - let me explain: I worked a lot (as a waiter etc.) and it took many years to get all this equipment - to get to the point where I am now. Working as a full-time musician with all these instruments is a blessing. The downside: I have no regular income. That's the risk I took. For two years now, I am struggling to make a living. Right now I am at a point where I am completely broke and also thinking about selling some of the equipment. (Rhodes) Also looking for a job right now. My food expenses per month are about 60 Euros. (I could make a video about it? LOL) I am working all day long on new tracks, new ideas, videos, producing songs and beats, playing live - How ever it seems like very few people are interested in buying / listening to my music or supporting my work or are simply not aware that I even exist lol - also the last four to five concerts in Vienna (Austria) were not very well attended. (I also do the booking and will not be paid for it neighter) I do not get paid a musician's fee - I actually pay for the location and audio engineering as well as for the car, gas etc. - On average, when there is a "bigger" audience - I get about 20 euro per occurrence, which is nothing. The last five concerts I actually paid about 50 Euros. Lol - Try to make a living with that. It's suicide. Right now - I am almost like "finished" with recording the second PAUL RUBEN ALBUM - but my application for support (music in austria "SKE") was again rejected, so it will take longer for me to bring together all the money for the mastering and online-distribution. BTW - Since 2015 I produced seven albums (MOMO / DAMENBART & ZUNGE / PAUL RUBEN) and never got any support by this country. Mastering costs about 600,- EUR per album / "Online-Distribution" (so your music is on Spotify etc.) costs about 80,- EUR per album. (calculate this together and then you understand why I have no more money for food.) In a nutshell - I am broke. I can tell you that without the support from my parents I would be dead by now. Starved. Lol. You know - I feel like I have a talent and would like to continue to invest my time and energy in music - because I think that in the end - everyone benefits from this. However it seems like I can't make a living by doing so. So as I said now I am looking for other ways to pay my bills - therefore the "music-part" of my live will be downsized. If you really want to know the truth: my total income (music) last year was about 5000 Euro. For me it is not possible to keep it this way. Regular income would be great...and food would be great. So. I am grateful for any support. I hope that answers your question.
