“As soon as a boy reaches the age where he can assert his personality, you should teach him to protect his mother and sister. This lesson is imparted by your example moreso than by your words.
“If he sees you argue with your wife, he will resent you or assume your bad mannerisms, but if he sees you opening the door, helping her carry heavy items, and seating her at the table, he will understand the attitude he should have toward women.
“In dealing with a daughter, the father should impart much more affection towards her than he would a son. Girls express themselves through emotions and want you to show affection according to your manly way of being and not in doses of feminine sweetness and tenderness.
“Be authentic because daughters will pick up on fake affection like overly effusive praise or forced enthusiasm. Your daughter will be very pleased when you instead treat her with a special attention and consideration befitting her femininity.”
