@@ingridabramovic8219 I think so because he can't be good like he is saying here and when he is dying at the last moment he's no longer a demon and clary sees that but it's too late to save him. But i hope they won't kill him off and don't do as the books. Because also in the books its not Clary thats bonded with him it's Jace. But i like it this way with his sister.

@@ingridabramovic8219 I'll give a little more thorough explanation but book spoilers ahead if you dont wanna read those. If you want, keep reading. So in the books its Jace that gets bound to Sebastian/Jonathan and not Clary (he goes by Sebastian in the books after his stint as posing as him). Clary joins the two in their travels tho. In the end to severe Jace from Sebastian, because you cant hurt one without hurting the other, so killing Sebastian would kill Jace, they use a heavenly fire infused sword to cut their link. Jace is the one that gets stabbed, so their bond is burned away, as heavinly fire burns away everything demonic. Jace survives because despite the dark influence of Sebastian, there's enough "light" left in Jace to stay alive. Now moving on. At the end of the last book, Clary does the same to Sebastian, cuz thats the only way to kill him. Now here's where it gets tragic. There's just enough fleeting bits of "light" left in him, that after his Demon blood is burned from his system, we get to see the true Jonathan. Who feels extremely guilty about his actions as Sebastian and wishes that things had gone differently. And says that unlike Jace there's not enough good left of him to survive the burn of heavenly fire. "I'm just the ghost of a person that could've been. That's all." He uses his final breaths to resolve pretty much everything he's done, and dies saying "I've never felt so.... light". Ergo, for the first time in his life, he isnt being burdened and warped by the demon blood in his veins. Plus think about it, nephilim get burned by demon blood. Jonathan was still a nephilim, with demon blood in his veins. All his life his veins were burning. And in the end he gets that brief relief from it. Jonathan Morgenstern would've been a caring, kind person, had it not been for Valentine. Spoilers over. So I agree with others that I somewhat wish that they change that. And in this course of events there's enough Jonathan left, to survive Sebastian's death. But I'm not holding my breath for it.

@@pcrassen4975 I read everything what you wrote and I totally agree with you. I've just started reading books (I'm on the 1st one 😂) so I didn't know that Jonathan died but after you told me now I understand it better. I love both books and the show they are both great on their own way 💙

@@mathilded2972 Because of the demon blood, and Valentine warping his mind since the day he was born. That's why he's a compelling character. He's a monster but... he's also a victim. Victim of his blood and his upbringing.

The problem comes down to the fact that he tried to kill Jace and Max. Even though to a certain extent, Jonathan is a slave to the abuse he suffered, he still ultimately made those choices. I wouldn't be able to trust my brother if he killed or attempted to kill two people I cared about. Clary's family are Luke, Simon, Jace, Magnus, Alec, and Izzy. She should be with them.

Johnathan may have done some bad things but he is her brother and he needs his family he was mid treated by valentine and sent to hell to be tourtured by Lilith the queen of hell all because valentine wanted to play dad to jace and pretend to be dead and johnathan thought his birth mom didn't care about him and he has demon blood so of OFCOURSE that would mess him up it would mess any of them up and he finally finds his one family member who he thinks will love him and who doesn't hate him and might give him a chance and if the roles were switched around clary would want a chance from johnathan too so I think she should give her brother a chance the things he did were wrong and stupid but at least he's trying to change now

@@shiankelly4007 His mom didn't care about him, she was scared of him and she wanted him to die. They may be blood related, but Clary and Jonathan's familial relation stops with blood. I'm sure they have plenty of inherited traits from both of their parents, but they weren't raised together, they haven't really helped each other. Jonathan doesn't genuinely love Clary, he's obsessed with her. He's obsessed with having the idea of someone loving him because of the abuse he suffered from both Lilith and Valentine. Why else would he make the moves on his fucking sister? I mean, that's really gross. Though I must say, his feelings for Clary seem more genuine than the emotions he's had for anyone else. Like I love Jonathan, I think he's one of the most interesting characters (more so in the show, because in the books he's just straight up creepy) and I don't think it's so black and white. I mean, he clearly admired Izzy, despite using her for his own gain. And he also connected with Jace based on the fact that Valentine was an abusive father to them both. But Clary grew up with a supportive family. Not only did she have her mom, who was at the very least good to her, but she had Simon, Luke as her dad, Dot, and Simon's family. Of course if the roles were reversed, she'd want a chance too, but that doesn't excuse the horrible things he's done and realistically, I can understand why she doesn't want anything to do with Jonathan. He's too dangerous and he should be dead.
