U say that gradint them back then made sense why do t it make sense now considering how high the price yo grade is that price should be added directly to the price of the card or it should add alot of value cause it is graded and now u wouldnt submit any of those cards

The second question is valid but I think your answer is correct. Submitting endless amounts of base cards bc they are $10 a piece to grade is a move of someone looking to make some quick profit. The annoying part is for collectors like me that submit vintage cards having to wait a year bc someone decided to submit thousands of Luis Robert paper rookie cards just so they can make a little profit. I get it, I just can’t stand it. I’m glad it cost minimum $50 to grade a card now. Guarantee you wouldn’t submit those same cards (maybe some) at that price point. Still enjoy what you do but you are in the category of people that caused the crazy backlog.

We all have cards that we’ve sent to PSA and when they come back we’re like “wtf was I thinking??” I appreciate you showing the downside of the hobby. I’m honestly glad grading everything and anything isn’t the norm anymore.

Could probably build yourself a nice PSA slab castle fort at worst, so don't rule it out as a total loss!

Minisized! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 You made me spit out my coffee! It stands for Minimum Size Requirement. The card measured below the size threshold that they allow. So the card is undersized according to factory standards. People buying PSA 10's for 5x's the amount or higher need to understand that it is a coin flip and sometimes 10's are given out easier to some cards (Manning) and not towards others (Brady.) If you are a collector, I would focus on PSA 9's. Just as good of a card for much less money. Grading 95% of these cards seems silly to me, but you still probably came out ahead. Why anyone needs every card to be slabbed and paying these premiums is beyond me. PSA will be grading 1 million cards a month soon and possibly 1.5 million cards a month or more in 2023. My advice is to get rid of these cards ASAP. The market can't handle the prices of second year cards. Keep the rookies and get rid of everything else. Second year cards are not what people want. The Junk Slab Era is going to come crashing very soon!

I think any dealer would want to be at 50 - 60% comps to take in that much base. You still might make a little bit or break even.

Min size means the card measure short. No forms of alteration. Perhaps miss cut during production.

Overall nice returns. For more profit, sell individually via eBay (especially the 10s) unless you are in a rush to sell. I usually do a mixture of auction and buy it now for duplicate cards. And when one sells you just click “sell similar item” and uploaded the new picture.

I would pack up a big box to COMC and price them competitively to sell once they're listed.

agreed, i dont think there was really much there to list on ebay individually, maybe the gem refractors but other than that COMC seems to be a good call.

Yea ComC probably makes sense for alot of them...I didn't really price anything out but I think some make sense for eBay. The PSA 10 Brady selects go for like 150 to 200 so those will do ok on eBay or Myslabs.

Why does everyone say the same thing over and over again, eBay and COMC? With eBay you are giving up 12% in fees and I would imagine it would take a really long time to get your cards listed on COMC (and then NOT sell them!). Send your best cards to an auction house (there are lots of them and they will take cards in lots) and make a MySlabs account!

I know you probably know already but the cards they didn’t grade were below the minimum size to grade. So that’s why they didn’t graded them.

I have loved your vids over the last few years (stuck in the house with everyone else). I came back just about the same time you have did in the game. You've told and taught me a bunch over the boom. It sucks that times have changed and it has all flipped (glad I got rid of my TB rookies (bought a kick butt watch and 2 kayaks and equipment with proceeds). Too many junk slabs are ruining the market. Sell them off as a lot to some sucker or send them to COMC. If you ended up even I'd be happy at this point. The card fun has ended :( !. I still watch and try to sell a few went I can (I thought Burrow was too old but got lucky at the right time, bought a few boxes hoping for Tue and got stuck with Burrow - LOL). Now timing is everything. Wish you the best in the future.

All you need to do is buy a bunch of retail boxes for loose packs and pair a random graded slab in a re-box and you could rival mj holdings

I would just go to Burbank trade up to something or just set up at a card show. Or I would set up eBay auctions just let them run and move into more sought after pieces in the current market

Brad, we sub a ton of the same stuff and eBay it all at $.99 10 day auctions. Here's the move... The PSA 10s pay for your submission costs of grading & shipping. After that, literally EVERYTHING is profit. In these massive subs you will do very well with that business model/profit modeling. We return 4x every sub at a MINIMUM. Think of it like this... If your sub cost was a stock you bought and you made 400% after a 1 year hold (your wait timefor the sub), would you buy it? Answer: Yes, of course you would! Good work and keep it up!

minsized means it didnt meet the minimum size requiremens aka they think its trimmed (or cut very poorly off the press and abnormally smaller than other cards from that set)

I think stay with the 10's and sell the rest but keep one or two from each card for the future.

When Panini declines to grade for minimum size requirement, they are refraining from calling it altered or factory miscut, so it could be multiple different things, but if the card is obviously not miscut at the factory and it is small, they are kinda saying it is trimmed, but they are inconsistent with all of that stuff, so if it is not a card that gets trimmed all the time you just never know. If I get a 1971 topps baseball card back for MinSize I assume it was trimmed, if its a modern card I don't even try to guess.

I would wait for ebay vault and send it in to that to sell. I am in the same situation, sent in a bunch of rookies bulk, it took a year to grade but due to the market drop they are not worth much now. Too much of a hassle to ebay individually so I sent alot into COMC, stuff there doesnt move as fast as ebay, and annoyingly on COMC offers come in at 50% of your asking price.

Honestly i dont see what the issue is.. Yeah youre not gonna get rich, but u can easily sell all those cards on Ebay. No way u lose money

If you are only about the monetary value of your collection, then ignore my comment. But my move would be any of the cards you have duplicates, keep the 8/9 for yourself, sell the 10. 99% of the time you cannot tell the difference between a 9 vs. 10 anyway, so if it's for yourself and your own collection and enjoyment keep an 8/9 and sell the 10. That is what I would do.

I sure miss your videos Brad. Overall, you have to be pleased with your results. To be different from some if the other comments, I would sell to a dealer like Burbank down the road or a guy like Chris who will be on your show this week. He also seems to give a fair price. The other option would be to set up at a show. You have the personality to do well. I set up at a show recently and had more fun just talking to other collectors more than anything. Of course, you can also try to just rip Dustin off LOL. Take care!

I bought 34 tom brady 2013 select and only had 4 clean copies, sent all to PSA and got all 9s, sold them all for $150 each. This was 2 years ago though

Some of these comments are rough! You did fine man. Definitely making profits on this order. Obviously might take more time than a year ago but you get to make a good profit and keep all the low grades. Looks like a win to me. All these haters bitching about slabbing base cards are not collectors, don’t even listen.

Where do you buy your raw cards out of curiosity? Card shows/shops/in person is the best way to go IMO, however I’m sure you got these cards during the height of the Pandemic. I’m getting a bunch (80-90 cards) from PSA soon and plan on consigning them on eBay with my LCS. I just don’t have the time to list them all myself. If you’re in the same boat, I would do the same thing if you have a good LCS you frequent that offers consignment. Cool video though, dude! This is a bit of a time capsule from a time when many folks were home, buying cards online and subbing base cards. Good times.

im buying all them slabs at every show for $20 id take all yours for $15 each. just think of it as making up for selling them kobe crusades for 700 and 800 that are now worth $75... its time for this kid to pack it up..lol

The 2004 skybox Lebron 5 is deff off centered. Big reason why the 5. Along with the wear on sides and corners.

You write “the cost made perfect sense back then” as to why did you submit these cards That answer proves in the year you’ve not had these cards and had the time to truly learn how markets and cards work you haven’t learned… And yes you are the reason because you and tons of others got duped into thinking this would work when there were a million red flags. That’s great and all you’re being transparent but you haven’t learned anything from this looking at your pinned comment so you need to trade some transparency for due diligence

Very entertaining, thanks for the video. I can totally relate to your disappointment on some of the grades. I do wonder if PSA is as judicious with multiple copies of the same card back to back. I think they would all eventually sell though.

Man absolutely brutal on the Brady Select. They scratch easy but damn. Must be cus its TB12? Must be more strict with all his stuff for some reason idk. I subbed 11 Lebrons of the same yr Select and got 10 tens and 1 nine.

I'd send the lower value stuff to comc and sell the high value stuff on Ebay. I'd trickle the 13 select bradys in over a longer period of time. You have enough of that card to break the market. 🤣

PSA should be held responsible for some of the money that people lost. They would up charge you if the card went up in value during the year they held them. Or give you an option to sell them to them.
