It wasn't getting what your ego thought it wanted that caused you to feel peaceful. It was a reduction or stopping of the ego's seeking and resisting that caused you to feel the innate peace of your right minded nature in the Holy Spirit. You'll feel the peace of the Holy Spirit until seeking and resisting resumes. You could have had the same peace living on the streets or living in a mansion That the peace comes from getting is an illusion.

@@acimwithkeith glad I asked! ( I almost didn’t!) Your answer totally surprised and profoundly resonated with me. I was not sure I made myself clear. I suppose the illusion that these things actually bring peace is very deeply mainframed into my subconscious. I did go back and re-listen to this video and of course felt silly by all that I had missed from the first listen. As a result, a lot was answered for me and I nearly withdrew my comment. I’m glad I didn’t, thank you!

You would know yourself as the noticer of the fear and not the one in fear. If fear arises, you would know it has nothing to do with the lion. The sole right minded purpose of the lion is allow you to have the fear coming up in you undone. "All things work together for good except in the ego’s judgment" "What could you not accept, if you but knew that everything that happens, all events, past, present and to come, are gently planned by One Whose only purpose is your good?" In allowing the fear to be released rather than projected (blamed) on the lion, you would have access to the Peace and guidance of the Holy Spirit on the most effective course of action. "Perfect trust would handle every problem now." We should be working towards this trust. And forgiving our lack of trust as a means of getting there 😉

@Bente hove I don't fully understand your question. The lions body and yours are just stories. You're free to identify as the story or that which is non-judgementally aware of the story. We only ever have an identity problem. But the truth of what we are is ever unaltered by misidentification. T-21.VIII.1. "Are thoughts, then, dangerous? To bodies, yes! The thoughts that seem to kill are those that teach the thinker that he can be killed. And so he “dies”because of what he learned. He goes from life to death, the final proof he valued the inconstant more than constancy." Thoughts are dangerous to bodies, but Jesus' most repeated statement in the Course is, "I am not a body. I am free. I am still as God created me." Everything comes down to forgiveness. "Forgiveness is my only function." We forgive the lion and the fear of the lion and the belief we are a body and so can be hurt. The one doing the forgiving of all this is not the body. And knows not fear.
