I've only been drawing for a couple years,but I'm learning that every drawing is not going to be your best,and you are right, sometimes you just have to start over.I guess it's all in the learning process.

I think criticism goes both ways and that you learn as much as you teach

Someone told me long ago that the difference between an amateur and a professional is that the professional doesn't show pieces they aren't proud of. It takes a lot of courage and faith to throw out something you've spent time, effort and money creating and start over but it is the right thing to do. Best of luck!

I am learning too that it's okay to let a drawing go if I am not feeling it. Comes from years working on and struggling with oil paintings that I haven't loved. Life's too short, move on and try again. Do you have that pesto recipe you can share, Carly? Looks delicious!

A word to guide you, the 30layers really inspired me and I'm wondering what natural materials to use for new supports!

When I look at your current work with the previous on hanging next to it, the difference is quite striking. I love the new work. For some reason it was much more appealing to my eye and when I think about it, I think it's because it looks more "High Def" than the previous work. Which sounds silly to say. But I think seeing much more of the non-blended work really adds a level of complexity and appeal to the current work. It's akin to looking at a painting and seeing the brush strokes and imagining the artist actually working on the pice. When it's blended, that aspect is some how dulled or muted or not even present. Your food choices make me think you're all about the Ketogenic (Keto) diet - or maybe it's paleo. I dunno but your food looks delicious. I only say that cuz I just started the keto diet and love it.

I was wondering why the texture was so different, I thought perhaps you had switched papers again. But you explained it was lack of blending. On that note, you never diet us know if you have stuck with the watercolor paper or gone back to your original? Btw seems like your combined digs seems to have increased your productivity as well as your creativity even if some ideas don’t work out, hey you learned something.
