Brings back memories. In the summer my father would load us all up in the cab-over camper and head to the BWCA from Texas. I can almost taste the Walleye fried by my mother over a camp fire and the feel of a big 20 lb. Pike on the end of the line. I can remember following dad carrying the canoe on his shoulders that way too. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

An old friend of mine has a very smart and crafty wife. They canoe alot. Has done so for over 35yrs now. She made them little hats that are really beanbag caps to pad their heads when doing a portage. I used to backpack with them many years ago. I sent them a link to see your channel. I know I'll be hearing that you have another sub by morning. Love your dog. Want call him human. Dawg disguise.

Nice Waleye, looks to be 20in +. What a great trip, thanks for sharing, awesome footage. I'm willing to bet you've hooked on to fish that've pulled your canoe around the lake more than once. I'm sure there are Muskey up there that are 70lbs +.

I love these BWCA vids YP. I wish you would do some more. What kind of canoe is that? Royalex? Why didn't you take the Magic, is it too small for gear and Yankee? BTW, love the coffee also. I finally got Yemen Mocha this year. Still drinking it on special occasions.
@Yankeeprepper
@Yankeeprepper 8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jason. I love the BWCA and go several times a year, but I don't like carrying the camera equipment (it's HEAVY!) and it kinda takes away from the trip when I am filming like this. I did this set to be an intro and basic of how to do it, it was a ton of work and editing. The canoe is a BELL Northwind Royalex and yes I took it for the load carrying ability and room for the dog.

Excellent sport fishing conduct..... catch and release until you catch the right one for dinner!!!! Did you add the shoulder pads yourself to your canoe? Would like to do that to mine .. it was my grand dads only has a small bar across the center so carrying it is rough on the back... great vid Sir!

Your dog appears to be very at ease and well mannered in the canoe. Is that something he took to right away, or accomplished through repetition? Love the video, and content of your efforts!

I would have to give credit to the breed of German Shepherd in that one. They just seem to be able to adapt to so many environments and missions. I have had many and the dogs just want to be doing what I am doing and be with me.
