I think in the last stanza when the author is talking about his nine starving children he is referring to his nine stories or novels that are not being published due to the great automatic grammatizator and thus he is praying to God to let his children(stories) starve so that the author doesn't sign the contract and give up his urge of writing stories traditionally aor manually.
