Helen your logic on BEE/BBBEE was so easy to follow/understand...….ty for bringing this up and shinning a light on it...…..to enlighten people who are still in the dark...…….of course there are the die hard headed people who will never see the light...…also….thinking that SA is the only/best place to invest ……….a lot of African countries are growing faster than SA...…………..by far...….....

The whole BEE policy is crap even for us blacks. Its so absurd going through those BEE verification interviews in the workplace, knowing that you were not hired because you are good at what you do, but because of BEE. I hate that shit

One need to agree with Hellen on the BBBEE, the policy is not implemented accordingly and people who benefit are political connected

Siyo Anda Hellen or DA rather is against the agenda of uplifting black people to be the same with white people. That’s the bottom line!! Let’s give the good and credible people to implement the the policies for the benefit of South Africans specially Blacks.

Mr klaasen my point exactly, I agree wit her in this point of corruption around the policy she's right! The fact that we must do away wit it i ddnt raise knowing very well that it's mandate is of beneficial to previously disadvantaged individuals... I'm selective in my agreement with her chief

Siyo Anda there’s nothing to agree with her cause we all know her agenda is to do away with policy that will help black people, hence she’s running away from the question trying to talk about ANC. This girl doesn’t believe in black in fact he hates them

its not race that the problem JJ, south Africans cohabit very well... its the economy that we failing to see a simple solution. south Africa doesnt deserve to still have shacks in 2019. It affects the very same eskom that plundered R59 billion last week, they can fight to keep it alive but the amount of people that dont pay electricity will never have eskom profitable. pure basic BODMAS Maths. at some stage these bailouts will run dry and its loadshedding wayawaya until we shut down.

every time she is asked about DA she runs to what the ANC is doing wrong, why can't DA try to correct the wrongs of ANC, what better can they offer, what's their plan

I think what she is saying is that in principle, BEE may be a noble idea. But practically its a different story because investors don't really care about employment equity targets as much as they care about profit maximization. So a sensible state will use the huge amounts of tax revenue generated from those investors, to grow the domestic economy so that we have more bargaining power. That's the difference between China and SA: the Chinese have far more bargaining power in the form of a larger economy and greater demand. So investors are more incentivized to adhere to China's rules in order to gain a foothold into the Asian markets because that will benefit them more in the long run. But I might be wrong.

You are not wrong...…SA have been led to think by the ANC leaders that SA is the only game in town...….investors can find a place to invest all over the world...……govts. all over the world compete for them by giving huge incentives...……….tax breaks etc...…USA...CAN..AUST...UK..Germany..etc..no BEE...……..Helen logic is so easy to follow...…….but the race card thing clouds there eyes...…….

Note how she starts her criticism of the ANC with BEE policies as one of the main reasons why the issue of economic redress since the end of Apartheid has failed in the country. She does not criticize the ANC for the fact that it negotiated the end of Apartheid with the National Party and wrote a constitution but left the land and economic inequality issues unaddressed.

so essentially she is saying exploitation (capital dictating wages, prices while receiving tax breaks etc) will bring jobs while the idea of giving people dignity (fair wages and transformation of the economy) will scare away investment? In other words, we must not care about what is right and fair for our people but give in to whatever the demands of capital are, in the hope that somehow the capitalists will let some crumbs trickle down to the presently marginalised people!

Zile is not talking about the race that mashaba talked about she so quick to dodge that topic but we not fooled it's just about time musi step out n a white leader takes over it myt not be Zile but I currenty you it's definitely not a black leader even if the black provincial leader are more than white I guess after all the black leaders are just doing the work for white leaders just slavery they are being told what to do and they do it simple as that atleast give white leaders a chance to be provincial leaders n see how D.A will perform but it's quite obvious it won't do good or well becouse they can't ingage with black people so they will rather use black people to try to convince black people to vote and all that it's sad shame that D.A trys to hide its identity that it's a white party under the black skin

Let's be clear here. BEE as a policy is not inherently bad (or ineffective). I see Helen creates that impression that it needs to be brought to a halt. Here, we have a problem of implementation, not that of formulation. It was well formulated. I mean we cant have the mainstream economy being predominantly white. Incorporation of black people into the mainstream economy is reasonable.

That is the problem with black people …...short sighted......Japan...Hong Kong....China...South Korea...……..all started to make cheap things for the white western companies...….after learning from them ……...today they are better than a lot of the western companies....

zILLE in any economy, SA to USA to EU to China, someone must be at the top. all capitalist run economies (almost all globally) have a rich guy at the top. its great for the country, it wakens the competitive edge. that is if u look at it positively. Americans fancyfy it by saying "the american dream" and they all step up their game and push to get to the top of the mount wealth... but as long as u see capitalism as a sin, forget growth, as long as the rich cant keep their hierachies well smooth and run, itl never work. He that gets a tender (fraudulent and corupt) go start a factory in your hometown and employ your people and get them working. that way your stolen wealth will cleanse itself and do good. very simple basic logic. but we failing... yerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
