It’s time to look at render settings and an example of how an image is actually rendered, using a process called Raytracing. I’ll explain the principles and a bit of theory and history, then show you what the default render settings do and why they work the way they work. I’ll show you how to override them and make the process your own, and we’ll discuss the benefits of using the wonderful Iray Denoiser.

Maaaaaan this is the most comprehensive, most detailed and most needed tutorial! Now I understand exactly what I’m doing. If nothing, the freaking hidden menu is a life changer! You know how many times I redid a render that already been on for a couple of hours. Now I can see exactly how many iterations the engine did, and what quality percentage it reached and then make an educated guess as to how many samples to add, then hit resume! Duuuude

One question though. If I am away from my pc. Is there any way to see the information of how many samples it used, and what quality it reached after the rendering process is done?

You've mentioned things no one else has in all the posts I made asking how to get rid of noise on my renders, no one has mentioned that secret menu or how I should adjust some of the settings. They've only given very basic information. Thank you so much for this, time to put it to work.

Do you have or know of a tutorial that explains all of the render settings in the render panel in detail? I know the basics but find myself spending way too much time trying to figure out things. To give an example, I have a Daz product scene called "Atonement" and another Daz product scene called "Disreputable Lair". Almost everything about how they render is different, and have figured out SOME of the settings causing those differences, but do not know enough about the individual settings themselves to know what i want to adapt to my work. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow, why would that magic button from 19:50 be so well hidden :D This thing should be huge and put somewhere obvious :D I've wasted so many time doing a render, not being satisfied with the result and starting all over again...

I love save my render above 8bit, the solution is in canvas, add a beauty canvas. The results is now saved in 32 bits version (EXR) ;) Nice video ;) PS I found a bug, resume not work with a Canvas Beauty :(

Hello, Does anyone have any Idea why my renders are freezing , Is it the CPU?
@Daz_3D
@Daz_3D Жыл бұрын
Hi Sonlon, it's hard to say without knowing your computer specs. Freezing indicates that your hardware can't cope with Daz Studio or the particular operation. It could be a heat problem, could be a RAM issue, or it could be driver conflict somewhere.

I keep getting CPU fall back that causes my renders to take forever. My GPU is GTX1080

That means your scenes are exceeding your resources. Get a card with more VRAM, and get more system ram too if you don't already have at least 32gb, or use less assets in your renders or else it will always fall back to CPU. You need to make sure the scene is not exceeding your hardware resources before rendering. If upgrading your hardware isn't on the table, I would highly recommend getting the Scene Optimizer tool.
