This is the 4th and final collapse and entanglement video in the series. This video demonstrates 6 positional and assessment techniques that you can use when you're confronted with an entanglement situation. You don't have to remember what they're called, we just give them names for instructional purposes. What should be remembered is the importance of PREVENTING these situations as well as PRACTICING various techniques that will allow you to get out quickly and efficiently if they ever occur.
Train, Stay Prepared, Be Aggressive, Make the Save - SURVIVE!

Awesome stuff! I learned some techniques to try in our next MAYDAY drill, where entanglement is one of the obstacles to navigate. Great job on the instruction 💪🏻

They never taught this when I went through fire fighting. These techniques can save your life but not your marriage. Shout out to Will Smith!

DALE G. PEKEL awesome. I am the training officer for my station, (career) and this is perfect. I just had a conex box delivered so I will also do a maze and maybe with that. But this is perfect.

Sorry I had to remove my like with a dislike so I didn't change the number from 343. That's a sacred thing there. I wish I didn't have to use the dislike to change it!

No, you don't have to hit a dislike to change it - You just hit the like button again and it removes your initial like - Thanks for the thought though

On the Slackpack technique you forgot to rebuckle your chest strap..... great video though

Good awareness Blair, but the chest strap is considered more of a comfort strap than one that is essential - Some scba manufacturers don't even provide them. The FFs on my FDs have the option of using them or not. I personally like using/connecting it, but honestly I wouldn't bother reconnecting it after freeing myself from a serious entanglement as it wouldn't pose a hazard like a loose on unfastened waist strap would. Thanks for your comment though.

@@DALEGPEKEL Yeah i noticed some have it and some do not........ my instructor says " if it's there.... it must be used...... maybe that is just throughout the course though..... great vids by the way!!

@@blairrogers3450 Thanks for your feedback! As far as your Instructors comment - That may just be their belief, but understand that it's not a standard or requirement in the fire service - Hence the reason you don't see a chest strap on every make and model of scba. The main application/use for the chest strap is to keep the shoulder straps closer together so they don't slide apart - Which for some FFs could restrict shoulder and arm movement.
