What a useful film! I did my 5th tire today and when putting a new tire on needed to watch some more details: I forgot that the whole Duck Bill (head and tail) should be above the tire. For some reasons the tires I have don't go on without a Yellow Hand. It is R16 tires. I even don't know if I'll be able to change R15 (we have on one car those (2001 Saturn SL2)). Thank you and Bless your heart, Sir!

Great attachment, the Tire Changer apparatus should actually include such a mechanism, instead of only having the Prow Bar's own end to make the same effect.. Plastic will break easily, so remember to not use extreme force and change things around instead of applying more force when stuck in the process

When putting the tyre on, as well as ensuring the bead at the far side of the tyre is in the well of the rim, it is easier if you feed the bead of the tyre over the top of the bump at the front end of the duckhead and under the rear duckbill. Also lube the duckhead. When you were rotating the duckhead the it looked like the bead was being pinched between the front bump and the rim. Some duckheads do not have the front bump and seem a bit easier to use when manually mounting a tyre.
@Engineerboy100

Thank you for that tip, I will try that and if it works I will use it in my next video about tire changers.

Dude , Just some advice ` you used the duck bill wrong to put the Tyre back on, When removing the Tyre you lift the Tyre over the duck bill head while the other end is over the Tyre, But when your putting the Tyre back on , you need to have the Tyre over on top of the other side from the duck bill. and the duck bill on top of the Tyre, this is why the Tyre was struggling to go back on easy, and don`t be shy with the soapy stuff,

FYI for anyone fabricating one of these improvements to their Horror Fright tire machine, if you're planning on removing wider, mud style tires, think of the width when cutting your center pivot tubing to length. I made mine 12" I believe and it's not high enough to remove a 10.5 wide tire.. Time to rebuild it. V2

Literally just Bought a horror freight manual tire changer 2 days ago to change a set of 31x10.50r15’s out to 34x10.50r15’s. By the second tire the bead breaking foot was bent & had to be reinforced with 2” square stock. By the time I got to the 3rd tire bead broken the bar is bent and the holes for pins are tearing out of the bead breaking arm & the mounted base is bent and pulling/tearing the strike anchor holes. Hopefully it’ll last to finish the 4th tire. Granted I didn’t expect anything from harbor freight to last, but I figured it’d last at least a set of tires.

That protective washer (@ 1:11), which is under the tire cone, when you remove the cone, what it is made from: is it from wood or some plastic? And also if you use that tire cone, do you need to protect the rim anyhow? I have HF Tire Machine and the attachment to it (Manual Tire Changer Swing Arm Mod with Duck Head fm/ebay). I would get one in a heart beat, but when I saw the price my heart skipped a beat! I understand the manufacturing issues and all that. However, the main thing is to somehow make the price attractive to the consumer. For $500plus, after tax and shipping, it’s not worth it. Keep In mind, you can get a used professional tire changing machine for a couple hundred more. Also, the regular tree shade or home garage mechanic, would be pressed to invest that amount of money just to change a tire a couple times a year. If you can find the way to lower the retail price, I am sure it would sell big time. I would be the first to purchase it! Nice job in the video and the product. Good luck and thank you.

The days of BYOT (bring your own tires) are pretty much over. Practically all the shops in my area won't install tires customers bring in, you have to buy your tires from them and have them installed same visit. Of course they will upsell you on new tire pressure sensor valves, citing liability issues if you don't want or can't afford them. If you don't let them change your valves, they won't mount your tires, even if you do buy from them. If you buy tires from them and leave the store without mounting them and bring back another day, they won't install them. Period.

Let me ask you what are you putting in your water bottle and how much of it are you mixing with it? I very much enjoyed your videos on this. As soon as all this virus is over with I'm going to order that kit for myself. Right now most places are not shipping anything out. I tried yesterday on eBay and Amazon to restock all of my carburetor parts kit stop for working on lawn mowers and weed wackers. It's just a little something I do on the side. I tried all my regular places first and they all told me they could not ship anything that they don't have the people there to do it. So now I'm going to put this on my list of things to pick up when things get back to normal. That kit really made a huge difference on the way you were able to mount and dismount your tires. Look forward to seeing more of your videos.

I am working on all the production tooling and the manufacturing processes to provide an even better unit than this one. My unit will be complete with cone AND duck head and be made out of more expensive aluminum material. I can't give an exact date yet but they are coming and when I'm ready I will be posting several videos everywhere, KZfaq, Facebook, Instagram, twitter, my website, don't worry, once they are out, you will know.

Funny how the tire changer is cheap from $60 to $80? But the actual smaller parts that REALLY help you are $399! 😂 I just checked on them now in 10/16/23 and that's what it's going for. This is 3 year's already.

OK THAT'S LOOKS GOOD, BUT THE HARDEST PART OF DISMOUNTING A TIRE FROM IT'S RIM IS TO "BREAK" THE TIRE BEAD LOOSE FROM THE RIM, FRONT & REAR SIDE!!!! I NOTICED IN YOUR DEMONSTRATION VIDEO THAT BOTH BEADS WERE ALREADY BROKE LOOSE! SO MY QUESTION IS HOW DID YOU DO THAT?????

Not everyone can cut tubing, weld and powder coat. If you don't want one, don't buy one.
@thewishmastur

I have done it for around $37.5 including the duckbill. Steel in Canada is very expensive. Never welded in my life before. It's not greatest welding job but it does the job. You can do it.

Good video of a well demonstrated product. However, there were times when you had music or other background sounds interfering with the dialog which I expect is important to the demo.

Kind of funny.. every video of this "machine/tool" the users forgot almost always at least one part of process. Some forget about to position the back end of tire in the deep groves.. some forget how to use the bar.. some scratch the tire with the cross fastener.. some don't use lube.. some don't use the whole bar for leverage, specially when "brake the tire".. etc.. etc.. This one forgot two things, on was to lube the tire and specially, the plastic cover.. it builds up resist-ants with the rim without lub, the other was to fasten the tire before the Luicid tool.
