Part 9 of Painting our RIB with Flexithane Hypalon Paint. Another day another layer but what a result. This is now the third coat of white and SEAX is starting to look great. The weather wasn't so good but that suits the paint and so we got on with painting.

Heads up guys - NEVER jet wash GRP - it can literally lift the Grp - I learnt the hard way - there is info out there about this.

Is a oil base paint or water base?

A liquid rubber base I believe. It's amazing stuff, lasts well. We've had a couple of years of use in the Thames and it needs a refresh. If I had my choice again, I'd spray it with the same paint. Keep petrol and solvents away from it. Make sure you prep the surface very very well or it'll peel off.

This video is slightly longer than normal for our unit but there was alot of extra work undertaken in sorting valves out and other stuff to get her ready for partol. If anyone would like to join us, then please email : putneymvs@gmail.com. We are always on the water, we would welcome anyone with experience especially as we have no upper age limit. Yes if you are 80 you can join.
