It seems to me what is unchangeable is also unknowable, beyond or before perception. The Eastern philosophy is that we can't overcome the deception of our perceptions, that we can only reject what we perceive as being an illusion and thereby free ourselves from the illusion. It seems to me, the "self" is the mind that emerges from the unknowable foundation of nature. All that appears to be appears within this mind with many different view points of all that had been created within it's imagination. The world appears as we imagine it will. It seems to me that we can not liberate ourselves from our perceptions because we can't possibly ever become aware of the cause of them which is represented to us in the physical world as magnetism with what appears to be represented as electricity. Magnetism is the creator of all the energy that appears to be, it's the cause of the E in E equals MC2. We know exactly what frequency we present as the cause of our world because we feel it as our emotions. My opinion is that to try to eliminate suffering from rejecting desire also eliminates happiness as a possibility. I also have seen no evidence that desire can be eliminated or that life can be lived without thinking. I believe understanding the reasoning for the Golden rule is our guide to liberation from this Earth to the new Earth made in the imaginings of a new Heaven from the revelation of the reasoning for this understanding. It seems to me that knowledge is the power to change the physical world for the better and there is no place where Life appears other than the physical as a reflection of our mind. Whatever we are aware of even peace, joy and bliss is a manifestation in the physical world that somehow emerges from the eternal unknowable.🙏

I should say that there are many different views in Eastern and Western philosophies. The Golden rule is found in all the major religions and it's reasoning is evidenced in science as well.
