Thanks all for enjoying my video. I 've very busy lately and my hands are full. I would love to answer all your questions but I am a little bit overwhelmed at the moment and please accept my apology. During my seeming absence in the last few days Gina Powell has been kind to volunteer to fill the void and I am really grateful for her input. As always her knowledge in this subject will always command my respect. I agree with Gina that Baty will be doing fine. He's just a bit slow to start off with - He's probably near the lower percentile on a normal distribution curve but things should improve in due course.

a mothers steadfast love saw this little baby thru. obviously delayed possible premie who knows his life in her hands. she loved him enough to stay behind and tend to him and now look he is getting there.

OH this is now our Baty. that's great that his body caught up with him. So much respect to his Mother who cared so tenderly for him until he was well. Maybe he was born a little early. Either way it's nice to know now how he began his life.... I have such much more respect to his Mom..

thank you so much Arroz, i love your videos, they are the best! they are creative, artistic, and tastefully done. I Bat Ears, he is my favorite, I think, of all time! I think he has a beautiful face. I also believe he is brand-new even though I'm the first to admit I really don't know much about monkeys. Once I started watching these videos though I can't stop! I am addicted to these darned monkeys, I love them so much. anyway, I think this monkey is just fin, he's a baby and I think she's a good mom too. I love her because she doesn't overgrown him. I get so mad at those moms that pick their baby unmercifully! and she doesn't seem upset at all by him not holding on tightly with his feet. she stopped and let him rest quite nicely. she doesn't abuse him and be mean to him because he's slow ... I just think they're wonderful little team.

Back in 2016 I remember watching all the video's he did with all the new babies from the Bossy Troop from Monkey Hill. Best batch of babies born that season hands down IMO. So fun to go back and re-watch these little ones from the beginning.

Those ears are truely hystarical. They are very strange, but very cute.

This beautiful boy is going to be just fine. His ears may protrude a bit , but other than that they are normal. He appears to be very young and is getting accustomed to his environment. Just as our babies are born with different personalities, so are these babies. He's a bit nervous but he'll calm down when he realizes that humans walking past, cars honking, and people with cameras are part of his life . Thank you for sharing your talent Arroz Marisco.....your videos are a treat to the eye and the heart.

At 19:08 he's just so exhausted he can't even hold his head up or eyes open. The poor thing... And his mom...patience of a saint! She really kinda needed to catch up to the rest of the troop but had to just give it up because he couldn't latch on.

Just FYI for anyone interested or those concerned about his strength and inability to hold onto mom...about 20% of all newborn macaque infants cannot hold onto mom independently and requires her support

I just happened to read through quite a bit of this thread before I posted my first comment. I learn a lot this way, it's amazing ... it appears there are a small bit of people who think they're so cute, clever and witty ... their rudeness just makes them seem small, ugly, so petty. Sweetest mother ever. She knows he's a little "off" and helps him out by holding his floppy head as he nurses and keeps propping him up and slowing down for him.

This poor little guy is a pre- me baby but has a strong heart 💜 to live. Excellent mother he has to notice he is struggling hard but still doing his best. Good to see how smart she is to realize that she needs to stop to care for him with extra help. Others would just say goodbye then leave him behind, natures way is not always the best way. Only thing, to bad she could not carry him on her back instead of her belly. He had both feet on her, both hands on her, plus a nipple in his mouth as a extra grib to stay on !! He figured it out but still was to weak to hold on. Thankfully mom knew she had to rest awhile for his safety, while putting their safety on the line here. Awesome job all the way around !! 👍🏻

You would never know from seeing Baty now that he kind of a rough start when he was born. He is healthy handsome monk and has recently been kicked out of the troop by Grandee to become a man. Although he is only 3 or 4 years of age Grandeee kicked him out along with fan favorite Dopey. They are a bit insecure and unsure but seem to be finding their way....

I don't know, kinda looks premature. He sure is a cutie though.

I just adore good moms compared to those like Nora with her young baby - this mom loves her tolerance and making sure this little fellow gets fed properly. Thanks to you Mom - you're terrific and this little guy will get bigger and become as good as all the other babies.

Beautiful video. I feel sorry for little one and his mom. If he doesn't get stronger and more coordinated she will have a difficult time raising him.

There was one other oddity that I noticed about the bat-eared baby, besides its bat ears. Most of the younger monkeys have very pinkish hands, with little to no hair on them. They always remind me of human hands. Anyway, the bat-eared baby has very dark hair on its hands. That looked a bit unusual to me, considering the pinkish looking hands of most of the other babies. Just an observation.

I'm honestly thinking he was premature as the latest video shows a vast improvement, but he still appears smaller than some of the younger monkeys so I guess he's just lagging on the growth/development curve. The progress he made is encouraging.

This little guy's behavior reminds me of the 'Poor Baby Monkey' series. That baby had similar motor function issues and, coupled with either an inexperienced or incompetent mom, was pretty much doomed from the start and eventually did succumb. That situation was in a zoo setting. At least here the mom is doing all the right things for the baby (the mom in the other videos would carry the baby around by the tail or rear leg and not even give it many opportunities to feed as well as just plunking it down somewhere and letting it fend for itself), so whether this one survives very long will be mostly up to how the baby adapts. I don't hold out much hope for it, sadly. Thank you for posting all your videos - they are always entertaining and informative to watch.

I also notice how his feet look curved away from the mother's body where his toes would need to come in contact with her side in order to grasp. I'd like to think that with walking on those feet they will straighten out...maybe he should be called lucky when he overcomes this ;)

She really is a good mom too bad a compared to some of the moms that I've seen very protective and nurturing

I wonder watching her trying to get enough food for herself , that maybe her milk isn’t got enough nutrients and he isn’t getting enough of the right stuff to get everything working and him developing faster. Also sometimes when babies are born and it’s a long hard labour and difficult birth that it’s little spinal cord may have had some slight damage there by that’s why he can’t hold on with his hind legs. And his little head flops back. The awesome thing is he does grow up fine!!💙💙
