Hi Nat. Can’t believe it’s 4 months since I was in Luang Prabang. It feels like a lifetime ago. Good to see you are back there after your adventures in Myanmar. ❤

Happy 🎉 New Year! Thank you for an indepth look at Luang Prabang! As you went thru each section, was thinking how the average American would need to forget their beloved box stores … but could live so healthy here and on much less money. But think you said the getting anything from Amazon would be very frustrating, taking forever to arrive, if ever … LOL … Living in America I am used seeing women wearing jewelry and how fashion conconscious they are (except for some of the Hawaiian locals and other Asian immigrants) … so seeing how the local woman there aren’t bothered with how to look pressures and live so simply … they would be so refreashing to be around. Again, thank you for a great video! I especially like how you take the time to explain the food. Maybe arrange a cooking class that could be video taped for your channel?
@natnomad7 ай бұрын
Thank you, happy new year to you, too. Coming from a culture like Lao where women are taught to be modest and humble, people keep it simple here. They wear jewelry only for special occasion such as joining the wedding and public events. Younger people, though, are more fashionable on their choice of decorating their bodies. Laos is changing very fast.

Great video Nat. Happy new year. I love these walking videos and I love to walk as much as possible as well. For someone who has never visit Luang Prabang, do you think one month is too long? I want to hike, walk and do side trips but want to stay in LP. Not looking for 2024, perhaps Jan 2025.

Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed the tour. I think one month in Luang Prabang is a bit too long. However, you can also do Nong Khiaw while you're here. It is only 4.5hrs by bus and you can do hike up there. I really enjoyed it. Also, visit Muang Ngoi when you're in Nong Khiaw as they're close by.

Hi Nat, I'm just going through some old videos of yours and I found this one. I understand that the government can take the house away at any time as they own the land. Can you tell me what you mean by the house has a yellow paper?
@natnomad2 ай бұрын
The yellow paper is like a temporary land deed. Somehow you can't transfer it to a permanent or real land deed because the office won't allow you to, as this piece of land is still rightly owned by the government. You can live in the house as long as the government doesn't take it away.
@wearemysticking2 ай бұрын
@@natnomad does that mean you own the house but not the land? If so could you move the house to another piece of land if the government takes back the land? Thanks for your help and I hope you're doing well?

Yes, you can move the house whenever the government wants to take back the land. But the concrete house is not very likely to be easy to move it to
