Welcome to Part Two of this series of tutorials taking a detailed look at the A2A Simulations Accu-Sim Supermarine Spitfire package that includes the MkIa, MkIIa and MkIIb variants.
In this second episode we cover pre-flight maintenance, starting, run ups and taxiing.
Since the Spitfire heats so quickly this phase is always a challenge and much easier when you aren't trying to make a video!
Addendum: the Merlin MkIII featured in the A2A MkI has been modified to run on 100 Octane fuel if you wish.
My thanks to Curt Lewis for creating the beautiful MkIIb tribute repaint of Boultbee Flight Academy's Tr9 G-ILDA
MkIa PRU repaint by Bladerunner900, another classic!
Thanks also to our chief Spitfire pilot and crew chief Killratio for his help in the past and the present!
For more information on this package please visit www.a2asimulations.com

Hey thanks so much for your kind comments, much appreciated mate. I've had a guy previously comment that my voice is "monotone and droll" so can't please 'em all. Trying not to wake sleeping wife in room next door is also an incentive! Hope all is good with you. Took a flight in TEGB last weekend in your neck of the woods and got very homesick!

Thanks for a good series Rob. More good info. I've been flying this for many years but just learned about the Normal/Summer/Winter Oil. Seems I was doing it all wrong selecting summer when Should have been in nornal. Also thanks for turning off the Track IR. Looking forward to part 3.

Ian Fisher many thanks Ian, much appreciated. Unfortunately had to turn the track IR back on for start-up. Tried without it but trying to talk it through and operate the aircraft without it was doing my nut in! 🤣

This is a great series - thanks so much. I've been flying the A2A Spit for years but never knew most of this. In particular, starting the Mk II has always been a nightmare! I now know how to do it and I only recently realised that you can replenish Coffman cartridges from the Shift+4 pop-up screen. By the way I tend to avoid the Mk I because of the tedious gear operating system!

Thanks for watching David. Really glad you got something out of it. Its incredible how detailed this simulation is. I tend to favour the MkII too although every now and then I give myself a challenge doing the switching hands after take off pantomime!
