Partial Disassembly of Asahi Pentax Super-Takumar 28mm F3.5 lens (Version 3)(M42).

@3:57 you have the front group in your hand. I have a piece of dust stuck behind the very front element. Do I just need to unscrew the retaining ring to get that element off to remove the dust?

How did you get the branding off I've tried vacuum pads, tape and blu tac. Nothing seems to work!

How he did it is beyond me, my lens still isn't cleaned due to that factor alone.

Sometimes its not about the amount of strength needed to unscrew the ring. When we get frustrated, we tend to hold things tighter. In some cases holding things tighter distorts the shape of the part, making it even more difficult to remove. Take a break, and relax, than try again. If all else fails, use 3M automotive tape. Its the type that holds body cladding on. Cut it into strips. Place it around the branding ring, and find a suitable sized lens cap or tube that fits and remove it that way. It works well and doesn't leave adhesive residue. Just don't buy the cheap no brand type. Good luck to both of you.

I have a SMC takumar 24 3.5 i couldn't access the rear element like you using the lense wrench, it's impossible to use it because there is no dent to fix it on the lense. Do you know how to dissemble it please ?

Most likely similar to the 50mm F1.4. It has no slots for a spanner. The entire lens group needs to be removed to get a good grip on the retaining ring.

I think you have a version 2 lens. Version 3 had the number 43872 on the auto/manual switch.

Yes, you are correct. The lens seen in this video is version 2, and not version 3.

There's now way you removed that front element socket with your figures the 1st time. I spent your entire vid trying to remove it and it's impossible.

I was lucky. Yes, some of them are on very tight.
