The Partition of India was a time of huge upheaval and created cultural and religious divides that still resonate today.
The Partition of India ended British rule and created India and Pakistan as separate countries. This resulted in one of the biggest instances of mass migration - Muslims moving into Pakistan and Hindus and Sikhs into India - and was accompanied by inter-religious violence.
Kishwar Desai of the Partition Museum, Amritsar and British Army veterans who served in India during the Partition speak about the events of 1947 and share their personal experiences of being there.
